To make this an easier read, I have made this into more of a Questions and Answers type format with questions that I know I would ask if I were joining a guild.
So, here we go…
Do you have any requirements to join?
There are no major requirements, we only ask that you get to know your guild members and represent us when attending guild events. We don’t ask for a certain amount of representation but it is assumed when you join that you want to make an active commitment of getting to know us.
What server do you play on?
The Ehmry Bay server is our home base, we are a North American server.
Do you accept players from other servers?
Yes, of course. For those who do not want to move to our server, we will happily accept you. There are some negatives in being a cross server member, but I am happy to go through this with you while you are considering us, before you join.
What time zones does your guild play in?
We have a few time zones. The leaders are based in Australia so we are run on GMT +9.30 but we have members who play in Pacific and Eastern time zones as well.
Are you a PvP, PvE or WvW guild?
We are mainly PvE based. We have some players who are avid WvW players, but we do not have many guild events in WvW.
How many guild members do you have?
We have 40+ members on the roster at the moment.
How many guild members are active?
On any given night (Australian time) we have 10 or so active members with many more on the weekends. We also have a handful of active members in pacific and eastern times, and obviously we would like to expand that time zone a bit more as well as adding more Australians.
Do you have voice chat?
We have a small Ventrilo server that was created for dungeon runs. We don’t use voice chat on a daily basis and we probably never will. Our guild doesn’t need daily voice chat to stay active and keep chat alive. We enjoy our guild chat banter the way it currently is.
Do you have a website?
Sure do, we pay a modest fee to keep our website which the leaders are happy to accommodate with. It is quite an active website which we encourage all members to join. We announce events via our website, post screenshots, have all kinds of gaming discussions and out of game discussions there. It is quite a fun place to visit actually.
Do you have a ranking system?
Yes we do. We don’t really focus on the ranking system but it is definitely there. When you join our guild you become a Raven. This is a temporary title you are given for a month. After that time you become a Nightingale and from there, depending on how long you have been with us, how active you have been and how much you have participated there is definite chances to be promoted to higher ranks.
Do you allow multi guild memberships?
Of course we love the influence, but influence is not as important as friendship. If you want to be in other guilds, of course that is fine. We only ask that you get to know us and represent us when you can. It is polite to let your guild leaders know if you are with other guilds, we do feel it is at least polite to keep us informed of your intentions when you join us.
What is the average age of your members?
I would say that 98% of our members are adults, well over +18. We have a few students among us and we don’t mind that at all. Regardless if we were all adults we do not encourage bad language or socially unacceptable conversation topics in our guild chat. It would be safe enough for underage players to join us and their parents can relax in knowing they would be well cared for in our guild. The leaders are mature adults.
Will I be kicked from the guild if I don’t play often?
No. The leaders are adults with fulltime jobs and we understand life requires us to be away from the game for all kinds of reasons.
