semi opaque glass is a distraction

Invisible walls
i’d say get rid of the metal wireframes even! takes away the immersion – if that’s what ANet was hoping for with spectators and queues. though, definitely loved this feature of being able to watch other people’s fights. can offer tips. learn a few things yourself, etc etc.
and surely wouldn’t mind if we were able to clearly see healthbars of both foe and challenger.

Aside from it being a visual indicator you can’t attack stuff from outside it also stops you from targeting things for party members, so I understand why they did it.
I’d really love to be able to see player/enemy health but I don’t think there is really a problem viewing from outside.. its the inside that is the problem.

Again invisible walls can do that. Without messing the camera up too.

What i’m saying is adding an invisible wall here would be lazy design and unimaginative. There has to be some realistic and apparent explanation as to why you can’t do something. Real world experience (“I can’t do that because there is a wall there”) is a part of designing game elements that communicate things to players in an obvious manner. When you see a dome it explains why you can’t cast spells in the arena.
You can make the case that they might need to be improved or should be more see-through but barriers need some level of opacity or indicator that they are there.
But there IS an invisible wall already, between the platform and the dome. You can’t target anything past it so the murky glass IS just aesthetic. I’d rather it just not be there so the camera angles aren’t completely terrible.
Personally just a shimmering spell effect would have worked imo as a domed view. Even if its similar to the mesmer dome or guardian dome.
Then the explanation of why attacks or spells can’t go through is simple. Magic.

Invisible walls
First day of Jubilee, Ventrillo:
“Hey, I wonder if we can PBomb in lol.”
Then we forgot about it and went back to farming and talking about Canada or something.
I was pretty excited when I saw that there would be a gaunlet boss events where other players could freely spectate on the participant. This is a cool feature that I’ve never seen before, at least not in this format. They sort of shot themselves in the foot, however,. Imagine trying to watch a sporting event like boxing or a basketball game through murky semi opaque glass panel.
If the issue has to do with game world immersion and magic attacks and what not going outside the gauntlet, maybe instead of having a big glass dome surrounding the conflict, we can remove the dome and instead just place a low nondestructive panel on the side of the railway with the spectators stand along with the gauntlet npcs (such as the announcer and the ticket taker). This panel would be like the panel seen in the president’s inaugural address outdoors. It’s just something small, clear, and nonobstrutive of view of Not to mention, I think it would be pretty cool to see the magic attacks and ranged attacks shoot out of the gauntlet would be sort of like a fireworks display. And if spectators could get some with damaged as well from the attacks, maybe you would add more to the suspense of being a spectator.
