I’m just curious as to why the only condition that guardians have access to is burning. We do get it with every 4th attack, but it’s the only condition that we can consistently do. Glacial Heart does inflict Chill but it has a long cool down, you have to trait 20 into Valor to access it and it only works with the Hammer. That’s a lot of circumstance to inflict Chill.

Every other profession has access to bleeds on auto attack with at least one weapon. Guardians do not, we also cannot inflict Poison or Torment either. Unless we supplement with sigils. I get the theatrics behind the Guardian, so maybe they shouldn’t inflict bleeds and poison it’s not what Paladin like classes would do. But what about Torment? It’s a new condition and I think it would suit a Guardian well. Maybe giving Guardians access to an additional condition would make them OP because of the built in burning we can proc, but because of this mechanic when it comes to condition damage we are held back.

If the only condition damage output Guardians can have access to is Burning then it would seem to me that our second Trait line Radiance is a bit of an anomaly. If you look at Warriors, Necromancers, and Engineers they all have the exact same set up as Guardians on their second trait line Precision and Condition Damage, but those three professions have bleed on critical hit minor traits available for spending 5 trait points. Guardians do not have have this trait yet we have condition damage tied to our critical chance. This set up seems off to me, shouldn’t Guardians trait set up follow that of Thieves, Mesmers, Rangers and Eles with Critical Damage being coupled with Precision? I think Condition damage in Valor would would be useful as that ties condition damage to toughness and a lot of condition damage builds work around attrition to be successful.

Justice is blind is a powerful tool that Guardians have so I’m not suggesting that be altered to a trait that inflicts a condition on crit but perhaps a new adept Major trait would be a good substitution here if Radiance must have Precision and Condition damage tied to it.

Am I missing a glaring balance issue; would Guardians become OP if we had another condition damage source or had Condition damage swapped out with Critical damage in Radiance?

TLDR: Guardians only have one profession mechanic condition damage source, is this a good thing? Since they only have one condition damage source and cannot proc a condition on critical hit why is Condition damage tied to Precision in Radiance rather than critical damage?
