Hi all,

I’m a returning player, and havent played for nearly 2 years. One of the classes that I retried yesterday is my ele class. I quickly respecced to the meta fire build, but the feeling that I want to spam lightning is already gnawing at me.
For some unexplainable reason, when I play a mage class and I can make a build that use lightning spells, I get all giddy.
I was playing around in http://en.gw2skills.net/editor/ just now but honestly, I’ve been away so long, I have no idea anymore how to evaluate what works anymore in what content. I know the last build I used 2 years ago was a D/D RtL WvW build.

But I’ve got a lot of catching up to do, so most of my time will be spent doing open world, T1 (maybe T2) Fractals, dungeons, and so forth. I want to play with the type of class I like, but only if it’s somewhat viable. I noticed I could barely get stuff killed in fire attunement in Maguuma yesterday, so if there’s no viable air build, that’s fine, I’m not going to struggle through content because of a non-functional playstyle preference.

So is there any good build for Ele (non tempest traits, still have a lot of skill points to earn) that lets you stay in air attunement for the larger part in the easier lvl 80 content?

Sounds like you may want the Fresh Air build. You can find versions on both metabattle and youtube.

BTW, as far as points for tempest, if you have HOT, join an hp train, you can fill out the elite spec in a cpl hours.

Tempest wvw roaming … as in solo roaming pretty much useless. You need to be in a balance team of helping out a zerg. Even with Harmonious Conduit over Invigorating Torrents you are dead! Playing prime time on NA servers. If not you’re fine and go nuts!

For solo roaming I would not recomend U Tempest. I’ve had more success with core elementalist.
