I am seeing what I 1st believed to be a thief cloak, then end up right beside me and then fire off both earth dagger offhand elemental skills … so they have to be elementals … so how are they cloaking from a distance (out of combat range)?

And yes, they are cloaking, it takes some time between when they vanish, and then appear beside me.

Maybe they used RTL but it didn’t show you the visual effect of it?

thats what I 1st thought but the last ele used ride the lightening to get away as soon as they fired off the earth skills so if it was the case it would of still been in cool down and they would not of been able to use it.

Cancel the transform – takes you out of stealth – instant access to all your abilities.

Is there any chance the ele wasn’t alone? A mesmer or thief could cloak the ele, or the ele could use the earth 3 skill (magnetic grasp, leap finisher) in a smoke field to stealth.

they either closed the gap with leopard form as a norn, then canceled it, or got stealth from a smoke field/stealthing ability from some other class

I think we maight have a new bug/cheat there. Yesterday I was stopmed twice (same ele) exactly the same way as I stomp but as a thief – going invisible right before stomping.
Asked him on priv how is that possible – no response :/
I doubt there was a thief who hide him. There was no shadow refuge house visible, ele did not use any finisher and there was also no combo field starter anywhere arround.
As I said – new bug. This all happen on sPVP so no racial kitten elites, or go invisible consumables (like on wvw where any class can be invisible).

RTL – without effect showing
Lighting Flash – without effect showing
Mist Form – without effect showing
Magnetic Grap through smoke field (leap finisher)
Norn Snow Leopard – spam 5 while casting and you’ll probably stealth before anyone sees the snow leopard
Granted stealth from someone else.

As for finishing people while stealthed as an ele, I would strongly think that would be mist form with the mist not showing, very common thing to do when finishing someone. I’ve had both RTL and mist form happen without the effect a fair few times.

yep but not when finishing a thief when he still dint not use his downed teleport skill and in 1v1 situation u dont have to use mist form to stamp a thief, cuz nobody gonna interrupt.
He was not that bad ele (cuz he killed me 1v1), and ofc would not make this mistake TWICE to use mist form before thief use down state teleport.
U know I am not that big of a nab, I know what I saw, and what was possible to do and what was not – going invisible was not possible back then.

he could be a hacker as there is a hack for stealth on non thief classes. do a search on google and u will see there has been and is a hack to go into stealth. if i post a link to it the moderator will just remove my post anyway. there are numerous hacks avail out there for gw2…

Any class can cloak with Rune of Infiltration,including Elementalist

You say “back then” in which case this might have been when you could use items in pvp/wvw (liek revive orbs). There is some item you can buy that lets you stealth (from Charr area). Could well have been that, depends on how long ago this “back then” was. If it’s recent then I have no idea beyond what I’ve already said.

Any class can cloak with Rune of Infiltration,including Elementalist

That still wouldn’t be the case in the OP since it was from out of combat range while the rune requires 10% health.

“back then” was yesterday, and as I said it was sPVP so no pve/wvw/racial skils could be used.
Imo its just another cheat, proably all of you already saw flying plyers in wvw and sPvp so going invisible is just another (new) cheat.
There is also possibily that after last path elems got new underwatter skill abbilities (and they indeed allows going stealth ) and somehow those new Murky Water ability can be used also on the surface.

Were you near water? A lot of people forget that in that last patch we were given a smoke field underwater, smoke field combos in to stealth, and so far as I know stealth isn’t cancelled by exiting water.

no I was not near watter but it happened on raid of the capricon. If this not just another bug, then it might be some kind of macro/cheat that in an instant teleport you to underwatter, automatically executes murky watter + finisher and then teleport you back to the initial position (teleport cheats for GW2 are availible since like 3 months or more).
From my perspective it looked exacly as c&d made be thief before he stamps.

If you were near water then he could well have cast Murky Cloud on you before he left the water. It doens’t matter if you were on land it will still work.

I haven’t really seen anyone that I culd think was hacking but that’s not to say it’s not possible.

not everywhere. I was fighting him on beach node. Zero chances to get from there to water and then back in time less than 1s

Just accept the fact that this game has a LOTS of bugs and cheats and some ppl just use it…. simple.
