Ele & thief main (full ascended)
Down with the braindead faceroll classes.
D/D does more sustained dmg on top of the already epic burst.
S/D has some nice burst, but that’s about it (DT + phoenix), all the other hard hitting skills are also available in D/D (churning, fire grab).
S/D autoattacks are generally underwhelming, I only use S/D when I wanna stack lots of might for my group or when I need the range or when the boss likes to move around too much (making D/D too unsafe and staff worthless because the boss won’t sit in my aoe), Air 1 fixes it.
All of my classes are full zerkers, with the exception of my Guardian (first char I played). I see PVT as only a “retaliation build” or a “this is a difference between my being a 1 shot or not” item. I’m not perfect, but I use my dodges, ports and evade moves. V/T is the weakest defense in this game.
While those numbers still are not warrior level DPS, they are still more impressive than I thought they would be. I’m still leveling my Ele, and while I still plan on going ‘all stat’ ascended items (ele has too many little heals + conditions + still wanting a toughness/vit boost to make up bottom tier base defense), I just may have yet another zerker char. The sellers of powerful blood love me. T-T
In the end, I went with D/D, build is 0-20-0-20-30 and the gear is berserker for the most part except helm, daggers and backpiece.
The damage is a lot higher than I expected and the experience from my glass melee mesmer helps me stay alive at close range, it’s even easier thanks to self-heals, protection and all the escape mechanisms.
All this while kittenting boons to no end, I’m really satisfied.

its not that you cant do these VERY high dps build with other classes and run speedruns just as fast as the war groups. its that you need people that can play and got a brain which most of these people doesnt have…
therefore to insure that they can complete it they are looking for the only class which can go full out dps and still survive easily while the player is completely braindead and lack any sense of rl skills, therefore WAR (guardians dmg is much lower then wars even when played very well.)
this is a balancing issue of classes not an actual issue of players not knowing that you can do dmg and survive on other classes then war
air-earth-arcana concentrate on arcane spells for utility and traits.

And for might stacking:
Ring of Fire -> Dodge/swap Earth (for evasive arcana blast) -> Arcane Wave -> Earthquake -> Churning Earth
If playing S/D:
Razor.6392:
1. Dragon’s tooth
2. Move to where it’s about to fall really quick (or you could already be in melee range)
3. Ring of fire under the dragon’s tooth right before it falls
4. faceroll arcane wave -> phoenix -> switch earth -> dodge roll -> earthquake

I haven’t played all the classes (Still missing guardian) but I can safely say that ele is the most fun of them all. It never gets old.
