So, I have been running mainly environment and dungeons with some Living Story and PvP every once and a while, and I really want a good set of lvl 80 Karma armor.

I focus on staying alive as long as possible, and primarily use D/D or Staff as weapons. Earth is my current go to attunement.

Where and who should I go for good Karma armor? The far Shiverpeaks? Orr?

Besides the skin unlocks, it’s really not worth it to get the Karma gear in the Orr temples on an Ele. It’d be better to get either a full set of exotic berserker armor and weapons (or what I do is Valk armor with zerker weapons and trinkets). If you can’t afford that, rare armor works as well. Most dungeons are balanced around using rare armor (regardless of what people want).

Alternatively, if you have a good number of wvw badges, you can get armor of almost any stat distribution from the wvw vendor.

However, I would HIGHLY recommend either getting armor from dungeons (with tokens from the vendors in Lion’s Arch) or crafted (made yourself or bought off the trading post), as karma/wvw armor cannot be salvaged. This becomes a problem as runes are often much more expensive than the armor itself, so if you put a rune into the karma/wvw armor, you won’t have any reasonable way to recover it when you change your armor to ascended or want different stats.

If you go for one of the better runes, they will run you ~5-10g each, whereas each piece of armor will only be 1-2g. If you are just gonna use some cheap or throw-away runes or want the skins, however, then feel free to get the karma stuff.

Judging by what you said I would pick something under soldier or cleric adding few bers pieces when you’ll feel comfy enough to start increasing damage.
