I’m well aware healing isn’t a particularly popular thing to do in GW2. But its what I like to do, so I’m going preface this with if your only advice is going to be “why aren’t you playing the meta” or anything along those lines, please by all 6 gods, the spirits of the wild, the eternal alchemy and every other natural force of Tyria please leave now.

My current build:

  • Full ascended magi armor
  • Bifrost (set to magi)
  • Ascended cleric back piece, amulet and rings
  • Ascended magi accessories

Soothing Winds (AirV) currently gives me an additional 106 healing power, which I’m going to be really upset to see disappear. and the new trait Ferocious Winds will give approximately 112 ferocity.

What I would hope is that the change isn’t made and I can keep Soothing winds (or something similar is introduced in the new tempest specialization coming out with HoT). But I want to be realistic about this and have some kind of plan to fall back on to if that is not the case. Before I saw the changes to soothing winds i was thinking of going water, air, arcana. and picking up a few things dealing with crits. But now I’m not sure if i want to stick to that and settle for the extra ferocity (because the only reason I was choosing air was for soothing winds) or do something like water, earth, and something else, and go back along the sole crushing road that is ascended crafting and make a full cleric set. I know that the stat distribution on characters and armor is going to be different so my math from earlier won’t be exactly the same, and I’m also aware we don’t know what the tempest specialization is yet. But ideas, and opinions on the matter would be greatly appreciated.
