Hey all. I’ve been looking more and more into switching my main over to my ele, and I’d like to go to the complete opposite side of the spectrum of my thief and be a giant damage soak that’s insanely difficult to kill, and since my havoc team already has a support role filled and we need a dedicated anchor, I’ve decided that I should fill that role. Would anyone have any builds, or advice for crafting such a build for me?

EDIT: While the weapon setup doesn’t matter, I do like the playstyle that D/D has to offer, so that’s preferable.

Classical cantrip d/d should fit in this role perfectly, you can easily find old build examples.
Except it was nerfed to the ground, so while you’ll have best what ele can give you it will still suck hard.

If you want to be real tanky and hard to kill go soldier and clerics with boon duration setup 2 monk, 2 traveler, 2 water.

Future advice is that 2,2,2 combo’s wont be as good as full 6 sets. So buyer beware there when that patch hits around marchish.

2 beefy trait setups are 0/0/20/20/30 or 0/10/0/30/30 can be run that way also. The 0/0/20/20/30 with runes of melandru and geomancer’s freedom is probably the beefiest you can get for D/D.

You may wanna get a focus and maybe Conjurer Earth Shield for the extra invulnerability skills they give.

I would go for about 16k-17k hp and 800+ healing power. You don’t need your hp to high but you don’t want it to low either.

I would go for a soldier ammy with soldier back and cleric trinkets. Rest of armor soldiers. If you want to get a bit of dps in there you can go celestial mixed with clerics also.

My personaly tanky setup is 0/10/0/30/30
Soldier Helm, rest is clerics armor.
Trinkets are soldier ammy, soldier back, 1 clerics ring celestial everything else.
I happen to have celestial trinkets so I need to use them for something and I found this to be a good place.

I am not apart of the sPvP team that is Genyen, Gauge, Kensuoda, Wakkey, Toker and Tany, with special guest Caed(he might aswell be in GF he lives in our teamspeak)

I am on the GvG team.

Genyen use to main Ele he may still but he hasn’t played it in a very very long time since it isn’t viable at that level of tournament play.

I can ask Genyen if he has any vids of his Ele in tourney play but it would be from a while back.

It may not be the tankiest build in the world, but I’ve always been a fan of Excala. Is this still viable?
