Does anyone know what is actually affected by the trait Lingering Elements? I am trying to figure out if the +damage traits like Internal Fire would carry over to the next element. Would my water spells have the 10% damage bonus right after switching from fire for example?

the last time i tested it didnt work like that, u can test it urself quite simply on some dummies….
Only the first minor trait of each tree works with this and even some of those are bugged i think.

just search the bugs thread stickied at the top for lingering and youll see it.
it does not seem to effect the 10% damage traits…

Lingering affects the 5 trait bonuses in each attunement EXCEPT earth currently as it’s bugged. That’s all it means by attunement bonuses.

Elementalist – Blárp, Razarei, 55HPMonk, Need More Defense
Revenant – Master Blárp [Desolation]

What trait bonuses, dont you have to get Elemental attunement to even get any?

I have been curious about this too, since it doesnt seem to add to the arcane fury timer when you switch.

Because the obvious interpretation is ‘any bonus that would be provided by an elemental attunement’. There’s no reason the 10% damage bonuses in attunementX shouldn’t work, since they’re a bonus that is applied when in a certain attunement, so if I’m considered to still be in that certain attunement for 5s after I leave it, it should work (otherwise they really are useless traits).

The only thing I’ve actually seen work with lingering elements is getting the water regeneration 5 seconds going into other attunements. Dunno what else works.

I remember testing a while ago and I’m pretty sure the traits “You deal 10% extra damage while in <attunement>” worked…

But I deemed the effect weak so I dismissed it and haven’t tested any further.

it may be that it works in different areas of the game. I have heard rumors that wvw/pvp/pve behave differently in regards to bugs.

The skills are split into PvE in PvP skills, W3 counts as PvE.
And yes, it can happen that only the PvP or PvE skill is bugged, an example for this is the Engineer’s Med Kit which works as intended in PvP but in PvE cannot be unequipped.
