Hey guys.

Sofar in GW2, ive got a Guardian i love, and an engineer i love. But, im trying to decide on a ‘cloth’ wearer class to play. And i cant seem to make up my mind between Necro, Ele or Mezmer.

Im kinda leaning away from Mezmer for 2 things. First, i cant build the same ‘battle-mezmer’ i had in GW1 (sword, focus, Empathy, Backfire, Epidemic). And second… managing all of the clones, some of which do damage, others of which are simply cannon-fodder, is a bit of a pain.

This leaves me with Ele, and Necro. The thing i like about the two of them are the AOE abilities… but what i dont like about Ele is that your stuck useing 1 weapon the majority of the time, and the Necro seems to be mostly reliant on their pets (or am i playing that class wrong?)

Anyone played both able to give a bit of advice?… the playstyle i like sorta goes a bit like ‘aoe, support, conditions’. I like makeing use of various conditions, but also like being able to damage/effect ‘groups’ of stuff.

Need some advice.

GW2 necro minions are a bit disappointing compared to GW1, except that Flesh Golem is strong — if too independent — and Bone Minions can still be blown up. The big thing that’s carried over are Wells, which seem to be strong. But necros have decent AoE between staff skills, wells, Epidemic, and the #4 Deathshroud skill.

Elementalists give you 20 weapon skills at a time, plus moving into an attunement in some cases has meaningful effects on its own. Necros effectively have 14 weapon skills at a time, counting the Death Shroud ones, plus pet skills for whichever minions you do use.
