i’ve been playing this build since launch, tried many builds, but optimized, improved this to the best i can, and loving it all the way – the BUFF machine build:

http://www.gw2build.com/builds/simulator.php#1.1.7.0.0.0.0.0.0.0.2.19.16.17.24.1.3.15.0.0.0.18.23.0.0.0.0.46.50.0.65.68.71.0.20.0.20.30

key highlights –
- i actually use rune of pirate – better loot and i love the pet bird (decent dmg)
- 3 pets (2 pet rock golems + bird) – which probably do more dps than me as staff user, all i do is cc and los/ troll to win pvp
- staff has crazy amounts of CC/ aoe – pretty easy to flee or snare, and 1v1, the massively large aoe is hard to avoid, even if they do, they die to 3 pets and cc.
- with inscription and elemental attunement – this is key to being a buff machine. 1 glyph of heal gives u 24+ seconds of swiftness, more than cd of that glyph. or unlimited regen with each use of glyph under ice attunement. or super long protection buff – about 3-4s per glyph, excluding attuning to earth and heal glyph in earth.
- 20 water still means lots of cleansing, water5 drops conditions like flies under huge aoe – incredibly powerful in pvp/wvw.

they key weakness to this build is very high dps. using rune of grenth will help with massive amt of chills/ snares – but i prefer to keep my bird. plus i have little problem surviving with so much protection, chills, CCs, and annoying pets.

this is my favorite pve build, using all weapon sets, swapping utilities in dungeons a lot, traits if i really need to but mostly to lazy if it is just for 1 encounter.

if someone posted it already, sorry for double posting.

That is the exact same build I have and the exact reason I run this build
So there are two of me

2 of you and 2 of me makes 4? woho!
On a more serious note, my laziness reached new highs, slot 3 is most of the time frostbow. Well nr.3 is pretty decent dps in close combat as well as nr. 4 if the hitbox is huge. Speaking of perfect scenario here…but anyway, thats not the point of this thread i think.

I love the frostbow, when I swap to staff and get the bigger areas for staff and in my utilities I always have glyph of storms, frostbow and fiery greatsword for just a bit more AoE

This is a “glass cannons” dagger/dagger elementalist build, it is best to use air as your main attunement, and the arcane blast is good to clear out enemies.

here is my take on a Condition Damage ele.
the sPVP build is focus on high cc and fire/bleeding as your main source of dps while having a ton of condition removal.
its an 20/0/30/20 with x6 runes of undead so you are not too squishy.

Hi all and thanks for all the posts everyone took the time to put up. I am very new to the game and have tried out many of these suggestions. I have really learned a lot from reading everyone’s comments.
Thru my experiments thus far I still prefer staff over daggers and a “black mage” version of elementalist in lieu of healing/support. Idk, guess its time spent on other games, this just seems right and more fun.
This build is still in testing but I would appreciate any feedback. I know it flies in the face of many of the versions here but seems to do a fair bit of damage and in PvE is relatively survivable as long as you keep moving and take advantage of air speed.
Just starting dungeons so working on adjustments that apply there – my alternate set of armor is Knights but this is my full GC with the equipment I have thus far.

This is what I would change to your build.

20 arcana does help alot, also give longer boonduration which as an elementalist helps more plus getting fury off of blast finishers will give you 20% more crit chance (fury lasts for 10 seconds+ boon duration will make it even longer). Add to that the bigger fire fields thanks to the arcana trait… Well good luck!

Currently I’m using:

it’s not exactly the same because i use a sentinel staff instead of soldier, and for pve i usually just use berserker weapon. and knight weapons for D/D or S/D

Sad thing about today ele :
1. If only we can cast meteor when moving, like what the dev change on healing rain
2. Healing power doesn’t effect combo. I tried it in S pvp. 1300 healing power get 1380 area heal and 300 heal power get around the same heal.

After toying around a bit, this (see attachment) is what I came up with for when I want to pure DPS. I am still working on something for healing/support.

I use this in pvp with flame legion gear, berserker amulet, signet of superior accuracy, and signet of superior smoldering when using staff, and I add a signet of superior blood when using D/D.

My idea going into this build was to up my crit/burning chance as much as possible, while getting all the asociated bonuses from fire and earth. Earth is always second in my rotation, hence the points there. You will notice most of the traits I picked are the ones that work no matter what attunement you are in. Has worked well for me so far in most 1v1 encounters and I tend to survive well in the midst of group battles thanks to mist form regen and earth armor. If I switch to water, the attunement bonuses usually pick me and my team up enough to make a turnaround in our skirmish.

Bob the Might Builder - PvX (Warning: Not entirely risk free)

After reading about elementalist failing at condition builds, I thought I would present my strange alternative I have tried before, but dug out again with better results.

The point with this, is to stack might while fighting. Pretty simple. As much and as often as you can to keep it over 20 stacks. You can achieve the maximum rather quickly and there the fun and risks begin.

The build isn’t supposed to rely on one type of damage output, such as conditions, because the elementalist hasn’t grand access to many such skills. It builds up 875 power and condition damage rather quickly, securing a strong mix of the two for a genuinely funny experience.

http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fEAQJArYhEmmbwx4gjDAEFn4SQhCMUeMjO2A-ToAA1CmICSpjTHTQycs5MEZWA

Alternatively you can play with jewels and amulets, or change Soothing Disruption into Cleansing Wave, but I prefer better survivability and means of keeping your precious might hidden behind other boons in PvP. You will have a fair amount of condition removal with Ether Renewal and Cleansing Fire anyways.

  • Pros: Almost 4000 power with 25 might stacks (higher in PvE of course). High non-crit damage. Solid health pool and toughness with soldier’s gear. Good damage output, whether it’s raw damage or condition damage.
  • Cons: Reliant on might stacking. Risk of having your might removed, or much worse, stolen by a thief or mesmer (primarily a concern in PvP). Low healing.

Posted up my balanced PvE / Dungeon / WvW (NOT bunker) build to my blog last night:

“My iconic role model here is Gandalf, standing on the bridge declaring “You shall not pass!” You’re not the heavy damage hitter, but you can tank something to a degree, and you bring your own brand of amazing to the situation.

That means bringing an overall package, that can hold aggro in a dungeon, and switch between support, control, and DPS as needed in mid fight."

My blogs gets a little political, but what I have there is mostly a combination of a build and a guide for that build, topped off with some general theory on my playstyle.

I use a staff build that is primarily focused on DPS, but it functions secondarily as group support via extensive access to combo fields and blast finishers.

Here is my current build.
Traits: 30/10/0/0/30

With Persisting Flames, I am able to maintain perma-Fury and perma-Might (about 15-20 stacks if no one else uses blast finishers) on myself and nearby allies. I also have near-permanent Vigor, allowing me to dodge frequently. This synergizes with Evasive Arcana: dodge in Earth for a blast finisher + bleed + cripple, Water for condition removal, Air for blind, and Fire for burning. The bonus to group damage via Fury and Might is incredible and should not be underestimated.

I can provide plenty of defensive support in terms of condition removal from Healing Rain and dodging in Water Attunement. If you want more support, you could drop Bolt to the Heart and add 10 points in Water Magic for the Cleansing Wave adept trait. I just use the build for both PvE and WvW, so I like to keep the damage-centric setup.

Here is my auras build. I use it in all forms without much trouble (wvw, pve, and spvp)
This has not been tourny tested yet.

The idea is using auras for your own personal gain. Makes for an awesome bunker/roamer build. 3200 power, 3200 armor, 19k hp.

I prefer to use dagger/focus for the extra survivability but this can be done with dual daggers as well. However, with the focus you receive invulnerability and condition removal in earth, projectile blocking and a knock down in air, chill and daze in water,,, what’s not to love. Using an aura gives 5 seconds of Swiftness, Fury, and 3 seconds of Protection. Dagger/focus gives two auras, our traits allow our signets to give us an aura (so there is another 4 auras), and the passives stay active, our rune choice gives us an aura for those times when things get tough.

Consumables play and important part if you are doing WvW. -40% cond duration can save your life and the stone helps synergies with our high tougness/vitalty.

I am running the following, using a Staff. It’s a Healer/Support focused build, exceptionally good at removing Conditions and providing a steady stream of buffs and healing.

I am currently equipped with Cleric’s prefixed gear ( + Healing, + Toughness, + Power), which, in my opinion, best compliments the build.

0 Fire
10 Air
0 Earth
30 Water
30 Arcana

The following traits :

Air 1 : Quick Glyphs

Water 1 : Cleansing Wave

Water 2 : Aquamancer’s Alacrity

Water 3 : Cleansing Waters

Arcana 1 : Elemental Attunement

Arcana 2 : Blasting Staff

Arcana 3 : Evasive Arcana

Healing Skill : Glyph of Elemental Harmony

Utility Skills : Arcane Blast, Glyph of Renewal, Arcane Shield

Elite Skills : Glyph of Elementals

Superior Sigil of Renewal

Rune of the Water (x2)

Rune of the Monk (x2)

Rune of the Fire (x2)

These selections and the reasoning for them are outlined below.

Cleansing Wave, Elemental Attunement, Healing Ripple: Healing Ripple is free, but these tailor to the general idea above, that you should be switching elements whenever your CDs are all active to benefit most from your traits.

Quick Glyphs Affects an excellent choice of healing skills, which allows you to gain 3 stacks of Might for some extra damage, add Regen, which combined with Cleansing Waters removes a condition as well, to dampen incoming big hits with the Protection, should you need Protection for a longer period of time, or even is useful for just running around randomly, applying Swiftness.

Evasive Arcana : enhances your burst healing by applying an extra ~2k of Healing + 1 Condition Removed when you need it, or can be used in Earth by rolling into a Water field for an Area Healing combo. The blind effect can be useful situationally, and the Fire burst isn’t half bad either.

Blasting Staff This is merely my own preference of traits. I prefer the larger areas to be able to dodge-roll into when using the Earth-version to trigger a Blast combo, but if you were to want to select a different one, I’d suggest using Arcane Mastery

Aquamancer’s Alacrity This allows you to get access to your Water fields more often, especially Healing Rains, which removes a brilliant 3 Conditions per tick due to Cleansing Waters

Skills

Glyph of Elemental Harmony The reasons are listed above under the Quick Glyphs reasoning.

Arcane Blast With a meager 20 second CD, it’s an amazing, easy to use Blast Finisher, which is otherwise in relatively short supply with a staff.

Arcane Shield It breaks stun and blocks 3 attacks. The CD is rather high IMO, at 75 seconds, but it’s not a bad choice, especially since it still lets you perform actions and can be activated while activating other skills.

Glyph of Renewal This is, in my opinion, one of the most potent and yet underused skills that we have available. There are really only two elements that you want to generally use it while attuned to, since Water’s effect has been broken to date, and the Air’s effect of teleporting the target to you is highly situational, but not to be disregarded.

Earth allows you to bring up to 3 downed targets back to life. Useful if you survive an attack that your allies didn’t.

Fire, on the other hand, is useful if you have the 3.25 seconds to devote to applying an auto-rez to yourself, and is doubly useful if you need to pick up a downed target already. That effect is amazingly potent and is not to be underestimated.

Note that this glyph functions on NPCs as well, making it nice to have for some events at times.

Glyph of Elementals : Arguably the only useful Elite skill that we have, and its versatile to whatever your party needs at the moment. I usually use either Earth or Water, depending on the situation, but Air and Fire can be useful as well.

Rune of the Water, Rune of the Monk : These two sets of two will further increase your Boon Duration bonus to 60%, which makes a good bit of your support ability that much better, especially Might, Protection and Regeneration. With these four, you can easily stack Swiftness or Regeneration to minutes at a time using various sources.

Rune of the Fire Gives you +20% Might Duration, which appears to stack after the 60% bonus from the other sources.

Sigil of Renewal Makes it so that, on a 9 Sec CD, you restore around 500 HP to nearby allies when you swap attunements. Since you do so often, it’s a steady amount of health boosting to your allies.

After playing an earth-bleed toughness focused ele since day 1, I’ve been mixing up builds in the last couple weeks. Happy to say, I have found a very enjoyable medium, mostly because it is very NON standard too.
30/0/0/30/10 traits, thus I call it Fire & Ice :-)

No ascended included: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fEEQJArYhImKbnR6gjDAkHtkCLhHHMQClCzA-jQyAoeEcWAJIAkIwUYR0YrqFRjV3gpRJiq9IFRrWGA/xA-e

The premise was this: “How do the Devs want me to play an ele?”
For this, I looked at the Superior Rune of the Elementalist. This meant high power, decent condition damage, with both Burning & Chilling. So I focused on these, looking for the synergies that are present in all good builds. I also wanted not to be in melee range as much as possible. Mid-range is perfect for an ele.

My choices made were based on these thoughts:

  • No crit chance, no crit damage – this freed up a LOT of choices.
  • Power is dps, while Might increases both dps & condition damage.
  • Frequent swapping between Fire & Water – make use of on-weapon-swap runes.
  • Damage and Support – frequent area healing and condition removal
  • No need for reduced skill cool down traits because we will either have fire, water or flame axe skills available.
  • Flexibility – HUGE flexibility – and this is why:
If we need more damage – kick off water (or earth focus) armor skills, attune fire, build might, spawn fire ele, use all fire skills, spawn flame axe, use those, heal for more might. Nothing spells kill like the double-fire rings from dagger-4 and axe-4 at the same time.
If we need more defense – kick off water armor, spawn water ele, use water skills, attune fire, use all fire skills, spawn flame axe, use those but attune back to water. You get the flame-axe skills, while your heal will regen you and cleansing water will remove conditions, plus you are still burning with axe.

If at any time you are being overwhelmed, just drop the spawned axe and jump straight back into water healing. There’s usually the 2nd axe you can pick right up again anyway! You effectively have 3-full skill sets with fire/water/axe with their own cool downs, but axe being instantly swappable.
Obviously, we have a HUGE health pool. This helps offset the very low armour we have, but acts as a beneficiary against conditions since they ignore armour but not HP pool size. Sure you might get smacked for 13k damage which will make your foe all happy, but that’s still < 60% of our 22k HP, which you can rapidly heal back!

Scepter/focus is also VERY considerable, and I would swap these out depending on each situation. Focus water skills (ie: daze) are good, earth focus is outstanding for defense. Daggers water frost shield reduces damage by 10% as well remember.

My main sacrifice is movement speed, without a doubt. My only counter to this is to swap arcane wave with signet of air each time you are going for a sizable run.

I think it came down to removing as much of what I don’t need as to what I do. Get rid of crit dmg/chance, get rid of skill recharge rates, and you open up a lot.

This is probably about as good as I can make a mid-range Elementalist, but would love feedback both pro & con! Some times the axe reminds me of the old RTL – flame leap in, dps fire ring/wave, then burning retreat out.. ahh them’s the days

After a couple days of play, this build is really fun to play! It’s very active, but has good rewards also. I have to add, I don’t PvP sadly.. This is mostly for WvW and PvE content.
Thx for the read if you made it to here!

Celestialist - Hybrid PvP build
0/0/30/10/30

Whenever feeling the need to just utilize everything, instead of focusing on pure burst or bunker, I dust off this fun build.

The point of the build is to keep your foes burning (and preferrably bleeding too), while still being able to create pressure with decent burst damage and stacking might whenever possible. E.A. compliments this build in particular, making the appliance of AoE conditions when you are pressured easy.

The defensive aspect of the focus allows you to manage tough opponents as well. The experience of having a balance between the two types of damage and having to manage conditions as well as burst creates a VERY enjoyable playstyle.

My personal PVE build, it’ s very hard to use and it gives the possibility to both permanently stack 25 might on you and your party while setting up defensive boons like regeneration and protection. Also when you are out of combat you have permanent swiftness.
Damage ranges from 9k to 15k inside Citadel Of Flame dungeon.

Hey guys,
I have been playing ele since the game came out, even in gw1…
If you are the type that loves playing in groups, and solo (pve) this is for you…

This is my current staff & s/f build, it has really good survivability to be stand alone and not dependant on others (with a bit support) and has really epic damage (not cond):
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fEUQFAWhImabvx0gjEAEFmkyoQIiHTUhElC4A-jQyAYLAqAQyrIasFuioxqtx0uRW9GEVMqVHAA-e

I am thinking of changing my build to the same survivability but even more damage only after the next update and we see what they are doing to mf gear. See the improvement in crit / cond and healing:

Sometimes, I replace Serrated Stones with Earth’s Embrace and Armor of Earth with Lightning Flash, and I’m about 50/50 on Glyph of Elemental Harmony and Ether Renewal. Arcane Shield is also interchangeable with Arcane Wave.

MY BUILD

http://www.gw2build.com/builds/simulator.php#1.1.7.0.13.0.27.0.0.0.2.12.15.9.25.1.7.kitten .0.0.21.20.23.0.0.0.49.51.55.0.0.0.10.30.0.30.0

Soooo for personal, light RP reasons, my elementalist ONLY uses water attunement. I use dagger/dagger when I’m solo and staff in groups.

At first I was having a hard time surviving as a water-only elementalist but now I get it! And I love it! My build is a blend of dps and healing and I am VERY happy with it

I stack, primarily precision, healing power then power. Also, when I am in D/D mode, I equip Sigils of Earth to get a bit more DoT damage on top of the burning damage from the 10 points in Fire tier. It works really well. Mobs are killed pretty quickly in solo play and I usually have no problem surviving, and I also output some pretty good numbers when healing in groups (sigil of water on staff in groups).

Additionally, I use glyph of elemental harmony to provide my group with extra regeneration, but I use glyph of regeneration when solo. Vapor blade is a fast attack and I get healed for every hit (two hits per cast due to boomerang effect). Makes close combat very manageable.

OH! And my elementalist is human and I use Reaper of Grenth as my elite skill for solo and groups. It helps me take down groups faster in close combat when solo and when we stack in dungeons it’s fun to just let run and poison/chill the boss constantly while i heal and lightly damage them with auto-attack and spread vulnerability with #2 staff skill. Also has an RP element to it that I love because my toon is supposed to be blessed with the “spirit of the octopus” (thus I always have my mini reef rider out) so the effect of Reaper of Grenth could be interpreted as octopus ink…….

SHUTUP!

It makes me happy

OH! And I use all dps armor and runes. Hunter or assassin armor with Rune of Eagle usually. Precision and power based. And all my trinkets are healing power (usually with power). My daggers are also precision and power stats.

I’ve got a S/D condi-build, focusing on signets and arcane

0-0-30(IV, IX, XII)-10(II)-30(V, X, XI)

Notes: on the dagger I’ve got the superior sigil of corruption to stack the condi-damage. The armor is Rampager (Power-Precision-Condition damage) with the Superior rune of the Elementalist for extra power and condition damage.

Though I’ve given some ground on toughness (e.g. could have picked the Carrion or Rabid set), I’ve got the Earth attunement to compensate; plus whenever I’m in trouble I just tune to Water and dodge which gives me a “free” D-5-Water, then swith to Earth and dodge again, which gives me a “free” and fast D5-Earth

This set-up gives me a fairly good 1687 Power, with a 43% Critical chance and 893 Condition damage. I generally play attuned to Earth and Fire, very rarely use Air.

Build: http://www.gw2build.com/builds/elementalist-d-d-and-staff-all-rounder-build-elementalist-all-rounder-11103.html

Now someone is going to cast “Eviration” on me probably, expecially those guys who play MMOs with a Oregon Scientific calculator on the desk, the main point is: I don’t care.

Since the beginning GW was different from other MMOs in the same way Dark Souls is different from other combat rpg games, the important is how you play because there is NOT a standard build that can be nominated best or worst.

In this case we are dealing with a fairly complex system, elementalists are difficult to play and there are gazillions of setups for the traits plus 4 attunements.

But let’s go step by step:

Gear I am using for this build: full berserker, including staff and daggers and rings. Every piece of gear uses Ruby orbs.

Fire: 10 points with Burning Precisions. Why? Because this build relies heavily on crits to do his job and do it quickly. You will crit as hell if you have the right gear, vitality will be around 14.000 and forget about toughness which is very overrated, so you need to know how to dodge roll to stay alive. Burning Precision makes you set on fire every enemy very easily which is a very good bonus damage.

Air: 10 point with Bolt to the Heart. Do I have to explain why? Dealing more damage is very useful against every enemy, but in case of a champion is even more useful since fight are very long and dealing more damage to a foe that stays for very long time below the threshold is sweet. Impossible to miss this trait.

Earth: 0 points. Why? Well, this is your choice, i love the trait that gives you Armor of Earth but i have a trait on Arcane that gives me Arcane Shield and i didn’t want to give up 20 points in water. If you want the Armor of Earth then remove 10 points in water and go more defensive.

Water: 20 points and well spent. Apart from Soothing mist, which you should always have in every build from my point of view, you want to heal yourself more often with a full berserker gear. Not all battles end up as you want so sometimes you have to fall back and give yourself a good healing moment because the Glyph of EH is not eternal and his CD can make you sweat. Aquamancer Alacrity made me realize how much better is to have a healing fountain more often, just cast it and fall back to fire or air attunement for dps. Soothing Wave has the only purpose to help you a bit when casting Mist Form, the important is that you learn to cast Mist Form not only when you have really low HP but everytime you fall to 60% health. If you don’t like it then use the 10 trait points wherever you want, i personally prefer the Armor of Earth trait for some more defense but also going 20 fire would be great for dealing more damage to burning foes.

Arcane Power: 30 points and I will never regret it. Do I use arcane skills? Only underwater for obvious reasons, so why 30 points in Arcane? Because this is a all rounder build, so we will get Arcane Retribution which will make crits go to the stars, Final Shielding which does a wonderful job when you are in danger and Elemental attunement to buff you and your party in dungeons or everyday’s map duties. Now i want you to think seriously about it: I wanted Arcane Shield and Arcane Power as skills, but they were stealing 2 of my slots! So what’s better than having your skills in your 4 slots plus the arcane skills activated automatically? There is nothing to do, the crits and the final defense will make you almost invincible and without sacrificing any skill slot.

This build works like a charm with both D/D and Staff, you have to decide depending on the situation but in Dungeons i always run staff. If you want to have some fun in PVP/WvW then get the trait for larger AOE with staff, remember to abuse your Mist Form and support a lot your allies.

Practically the build is mainly for PVE at lv80, you will be able to run anything on the map with some training, but it’s also a good starting point to explore PVP/WvW. Of course if you want to run mainly PVP/WvW then you will have to gain more vitality on the gear and different traits/skills but that’s life and this is not a focused build.

For leveling up till lv80 i abused of lighting hammer and FierySword which are great staying in water because of consta regeneration, so of course i had the trait for more charges on conjured weapons, but in the moment that you reach lv80 and you are geared well you will see that D/D on the map will blast any enemy away from the universe.

Remember that your skills are not there to stay permanently on the slots, depending on the situation change the skills accordingly when out of battle. To be more clear: be elastic and don’t suppose that your skills are ok for every fight.

this is strictly PvP/WvW small groups

I made an amazing balanced build that is great in groups or even 1vX because of its natural tankiness….yes, that’s right, tank elementalist.

http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fEAQFAWhImgbyx0gjDAkHvYCLiCVUeMzO2A-ToAAyCsIqRVjrGTNyas1ME5IC

celestial amulet and rune of divinity make for some major balancing your stats, which elementalist benefits more from than any other class.

armor of earth and mist form is nice for stomping foes.

glyph of storms should always be used in earth, it blinds everyone every second it’s down making people miss more than half their attacks if they’re in it and does high damage, too.

glyph of elementals should be in ice or air for healing or stuns.

This is typically for parties, but it helps in solo PvE. Just watch for conditions on your party, and stay near those who need a heal. You’re capable of removing at least 7 conditions from yourself and allies while on the water attunement, in addition to healing almost 1/3 of your own health.

It does cut down on the potential DPS, but unless you’re soloing a dungeon or Orr, you shouldn’t have any problems.

I made a new signet build and would like some input on it…

http://en.gw2skills.net/editor/?fEQQFAWhMmabux3wjDABFEgw4BIjQSRxM7A-jAyAYfAiDQyvIasVtioxqYw0nJV5KI7NUWBA-e

I played this build last night and it seemed ok but needs more testing ,the survival seems ok and damage is better than the bunker build i was using. I am thinking after the dec 10 changes happen that i might go with 30/0/30/0/10 with arcana major trait being blasting staff and the fire grandmaster being Pyromancer’s

So I just whipped up this variant on Fresh air. this is for PvE mostly. I am sticking with exotics as they are readily available. I may also use this for fract.

Anyway the idea is to get decent DPS while keeping some survivability and exploiting the burning most enemies suffer. I may change my Grandmaster Fire to V to add to that.

Not sure if I should sac survivability for extra Crit.

I was going to add food buffs to the mix but decided I wanted the calculations without food and that in most cases I would have MF

As I said I might do Fractals. but I have on;y done them maybe 3 times so I have next to no experience.
