Yes, simplest resolves are always the best or seems like that^ I suggested more cuz it wouldn’t be enough probably and to turn more attention, conversation.

A on cast for all conjure weapons would be nice but holds them back for me is they do not feel like full weapons say a hammer is to a gurd.
To me the ideal of a conjure weapon is to give up your skills for a time to use the weapon and the skills on that weapon should be a self contained weapon so there needs to be an aggressive def and even support effects on all conjure weapons.
So earth shield is missing a stun brake (though i guess stun brake and dmg mitigation are about the same thing so the shield may have that covered) an “ok” dmg and a combo finisher.
Frost bow missing type type of dmg mitigation mostly.
Flame axe is missing a good cc.
Lighting hammer is missing dmg mitigation badly.
FGS is missing dmg mitigation too.

If earth shield was instant, it still probably wouldn’t be considered, but with a stunbreak (even no stab) it would at least warrant consideration in a defensive build.
The cast time and no stun-break kills it. The shield weapon skills are balanced around already being in-hand. Needing to spend 3/4s to drop the shield, which has no skills powerful enough to justify it, just kills the weapon-set.
At least lightning hammer is good for PvE due to great autos, and ice bow is good as its a very quick cast (1/4s) to get 2x ice storms.

I disagree, a defensive skillset that has no resistance against conditions or control will be worthless until DPS is significantly more valuable in PvP, which is not likely to ever happen with the developers closed-minded insistence that the conquest game mode is well designed, in spite of all evidence to the contrary. It needs condiremoval, stability, or at the very least a stun removal.

Shield 1 is melee with a little dashing now image new condtion Taunt, I remeber that ranger sw 1 is similar. Basicaly when you will enter shield and get taunt your char will do interesting things.
Shield 2 is block, long and block 1 attack, 3stacks of bleeding near, but what with enemies that attacked us from far distance? nothing for them. I fought about something shield 2: additional effect: if blocked from distance 600+ next attack of that opponent have halved range;)

Conjures are the worst designed utilities in the game, bar none. Giving up 20 skills, plus a utility slot, for 5 mediocre skills is the worst tradeoff ever.
Not to mention the mechanics of summoning/picking up/using are also awful.

With 1 conjure you have 2 weapons: first in hand (that could be instant) and second is on the ground, situation when picking it to make weapons skills>conjure>weapons skills>conjure from ground (you could change more faster skills /before/ picking animation) .. using it in efficient< heh. 20skills for 5, even if people would call it the worst designed utilities, how you think what kind of utilities new specialization for ele will replace? It is good question, if we think about polishing conjures we do it for sake ele and his spec, or only for core ele w/o spec.

conjure earth shield skill 5 is fority 3s time duration 30s recharge, you become invulnerable, prevents capture points, you stay 3s being safe and can’t do anything
You can in fact use everything that’s instant,switching attunements,using instant utility skills without breakin the channel. The Conjure Earth Shield is very useful at least in an offensive build.
Shield #2: Block that lasts for 2 1/4 seconds. Blocks every ranged attack during that channel but only blocks 1 melee attack or w/e else. Also,if you succesfully block an attack(s) the recharge is halved to 4 seconds.
Shield #3: This is a 2 second AOE daze with a 600 range on a 12 second cooldown. This is invaluable in an 1v1 situation. If not for a daze/gap closer use it to get some distance from that pesky melee dude.
Shield #4: Unblockable AOE pull with a pull range of 400 and a range of 600. Pulls 3 foes and you get 2 second protection for each foe pulled. That’s 33% less dmg from 2-6 seconds.
Shield #5: 3 second invulnerability. And with the added effect that everything that’s inside that shield with you also becomes invulnerable.
Did a fun build with another ele a while back. We both used Ice Bow and Earth Shield. He used IB #4 and I combined that with ES #5 to secure the channel and then we switched and did it again lol.
But nevertheless imo this is a good choice (if not better) than any other utility skill we have atm for an offensive use. Especially if combined with focus. 7 sec invulnerability in a purely balls to the walls build? Yes please. Any day.

It doesn’t make everything inside the dome invulnerable. It just doesn’t.
That is weird,it did work before. Maybe it was a bug then and it got fixed? But nevertheless xD
It’s still good from an offensive pov! :P
