A PvE player is supposed to avoid a 1-2 second 1 shotting aoe.
A WWW player is considered uncapable of avoiding a 5,75 second aoe for half his health.

Dunno for engineers….but there is a similar ranger vid and a similar necro vid, not to mention a guardian vid…..
Instead there are vids from other classes i will not mention that shows BETTER results without ANY effort due to some really unbalanced skills.
Some cases where you clearly sees that skill is not involved.
You have to check content of the vid….
If you tell me you can use efficinetly 1 second distortions to evade strong skills…well i bet you will do wonders even with an eng….and that vid is the case.
But the point is many people just don t want skill involved in the outcome of battles.
Skill is imbalanced. Please nerf.
The main problem about balancing in WvW imo are upscaled players. Those vids never show the average + involve mainly upscaled players. So you cannot generalize if something has to be toned down.
I’m no fan of upscaling in WvW. IMO it should be removed or toned down. Anet should make something like battlegrounds in DAOC for player levels 1-79 (smaller WvW like sandbox map), then restrict real WvW to level 80.
2 decent players that have am idea what they are doing will kill a d/d ele and there are a decent amount of builds that can kill them 1v1

But my first search result in Engineer 4v1
I know that the guy play very well it’s not the question.
Every class can have this kind of videos.
Sometimes u can do well against a few guys because their skills is not that great or because their build is not amazing or their build just can’t counter yours but other times u just face people that know how to play and is a really different game.
About the mesmer video, i’m not asking for any nerfs it was just to show that it’s possible to win against D/D ele. The mesmer had a flawless victory he just had to wait for the right time to do is burst.
But people just want to press 1,2,3 and see a dead ele.
What I agree is that in WWW the capability that D/D bunker ele has to disengage battles is annoying but so is the thiefs with stealth. And if the fight is more or less near walls almost all other bunkers can reach the inside of a fort.

They are the only professions who can decide on their own when to enter or a leave a zerg, 1 v 1, or 1 v many and the other professions can’t do anything about it even if they have the upper hand in the fight. Other professions don’t have this capability. This makes them OP imo.
Thief does it with all it’s endless stealth.
D/D with it’s endless speed, healing power and condi removal

That’s kinda funny, how about you try to immobilize ele that’s going low? unless he still has some major defensive cds i.e mist or flash its dead ele

not only you can do the same, but you can also prevent EASILY ele to leave battle with at least 3 skills.
Ele has only a 75CD option you can easily cancel….
This as a player who almost left his ele for his mesmer u.u.

For D/D ele mobility is one skill namely RTL which can be easily countered by immobilize.
I really cant get it why everyone’s stating that d/d ele is uncatchable. I find my warrior is much more mobile with greatsword + sword leap + mobility skills & warhorn breaking any immobilizes. My ele has hard times breaking out of immobilize because the condi removal is just 1 condition at the same time. Its very easy to cloak immobilize with another condition.
People have to realize that immobilize is the single best form of CC in the entire game.
