Guild Wars 2

Hi all! Just hit 80 on my elementalist and have yet to get geared up, just a few pieces of rare and masterwork gear mostly.

I understand it may take a while to get decently geared, but I was curious about how to define that. The genesis for this question, for me, comes from playing WvW, where it seems I die in no time at all and do pretty minimal damage. The real kicker was being hit by an enemy Ranger with a 12.3K Maul and then another 5.3K from something I don’t remember – basically 2-shot. Now, not complaining, just trying to get an idea of what other elementalists in WvW, who have gotten themselves reasonably geared, are rocking as far as stats like Toughness, Armor, Power, etc.

I have about 1300 Toughness and 1900 Armor myself, and 1600 Power/2600 Attack. I am sure this is terrible but like I said, just starting the level 80 end-game

Depends on what you’re doing: following a zerg, running in a 15-20 man, or small group/roaming.

Aim for around 2600 armor though. Rest very much depends on spec.

Standard staff elementalist build to providing support to friendly blob. Use Knights armour Power, Precision, Toughness) with celestial (+ All stats items) ascended trinkets.

Use weapon with soldier (Power, toughness, vitality) stats. Finally use food for -36% condition dmg (Dont remember name) and superior sharpening stone for precision increase.

best way to get ascended trinkets:
Amulet = Laurel vendor
2 Accessories = Guild commendations
2 rings = wvw laurel vendor (cheaper than normal purchase in terms of laurels) or best way is through pristine fractal relics in FOTM.
back pack = You need to buy exotic quality in FOTM and upgrade to ascended (this you will not find celestial quality so buy soldier or knights.

Btw for starters to upgrade your ele to exotic quality if you have 504,000 karma go to one of the temples in orr and buy that temple armour which ever suits you. then keep upgrading to wvw armour as and when you have the resources/
