Unreasonable changes on ele

Ride the Lightning
- Now required a target to cast.
- Range of this skill has been reduced from 1500 to 900.
Cleansing Wave on Evasive Arcana
- Reduced amount of healing to 1/2 of its original healing value.
Shocking and Frost Aura
- Reduced the aura duration to 3 seconds.

I can see nerfs to shocking aura, EA’s water and RTL, but having RTL require a target would ruin the skill. It makes no sense, and people who usually suggest that do not play or understand what is to be an elementalist. I can see RTL getting a higher cooldown, or even having its range being decreased, but the target requirement would make RTL completely useless at what is good at: as an escape skill, and as a movement skill. Elementalists already have leaps with their burning speed and MH Dagger’s earth #3. Transforming one of their most iconic skills into a third, weaker leap skill would be a terrible change.
Changes to the aura durations would do nothing to favour the whiners, if they were losing before it’s certainly not because of shocking aura and a rtl change would still means nothing as it was always supposed to be used as an escape so 5 or 10s more won’t change the outcome of a battle, I’d say these kind of changes would be due to knee jerk reaction and I believe Anet has gone past this now…
RTL needing a target would probably be one of the few things they could do in an update that would cause me to just leave the game outright. I don’t think I’d be alone on that one. That would be truly awful.
When I opted to become an ele main the reason for it was I wanted to get around with swiftness and RTL.

Frost Aura: Incoming damage is reduced by 10% while under the effects of this aura. Enemies are only able to be chilled by this aura once per second. This affects all frost auras.
Evasive Arcana: The spell cast while in water attunement has been split between PvE and PvP. This spell’s effectiveness with the healing attribute has been reduced by 50% while in PvP.
Ride the Lightning: This ability’s recharge has been increased to 20 seconds

Frost Aura got a buff, it didn’t have any dmg reduction component before 2.2 afaik.

It also chills less often, when you’re targetted by multi-hit attacks.
