I run the same build but with Ether Renewal and Earth Armor over the Arcane Wave. Also, not sure if it is a human trait, but the elite that does an aoe chill/poison is awesome for when you are leading a charge.
I use nothing but the Power/Toughness/Vitality gear. I am currently using Runes of the Earth, but saving up for Runes of the Forge (they are a pretty similar set).
I have been running this build for a couple of months and every one I run around with is amazed at how long I can keep 10+ people occupied. Every other build seems boring after playing this one.
I really recommend you try Ether Renewal for the survival it gives you when you need to make a quick escape, removing snares and roots while in Mist form.
My biggest problem at the moment is finding Guardians and Warriors who actually want to push as much as I do! If only I had an army of D/D ele’s and not these “heavy armour” tissue pushers
I do like your build though! I think it’s a logical evolution from the more popular one, my only question though is how soft does it hit?
Regarding Ether Renewal, with the amount of CC’ing that happens to me having that interrupted seems really risky…

Seems like a very interesting build, might have to give it a try at some point, maybe when my server (Desolation) isnt dead after 2 guilds left
Aura Share is awesome. I don’t like the 10 Arcana variation though – I roll with nothing in Earth (the Protection buff is too low duration, even with gear & food) and 30 Arcana.
I much prefer the versatility that high Arcana brings than the 20 Earth variant, but if it works for you, then go for it.

Doesn’t hit soft at all. Although you do need the fury and might stacks to really pack a punch. It quite easy to get 10-12 stacks of might up on your own, using burning speed, flame circle and earthquake +arcane blast, and of course the might from the attunement swap. But like I said this build definitely requires synergy from other classes to be effective. With my banner warrior and the staff guardians buffing I can get the 25 stacks of might up pretty quick and then hit like a truck.
I would note however, that the main purpose of this build is to push up and disrupt the front line of the opposition with cc, which you have a ton of air 5, earth 4, air 3, water 4, water 3….I think you get the picture. So the goal of this build is to get in there and break up the opponents. Then let your glass canon friends roll in behind you and get the killing started.

That’s the bit I absolutely adore about D/D Aura builds. I joined a new guild 5 days ago and I don’t think they’re used to the way I play. After the initial rush I look around and think to myself “Where the hell are my team mates?” since chances are good I’m the only one who pushed so deep into the opposition. Why are people so afraid to push!?
So props to all you aggressive D/D players – “forward!” cried the Generals from the rear, if only they’d used an ELE army.
