You can swaping up to 5 “weapons” in fight without CD.
Utility provide tool belt skills

Power build have better dps output on VG(low armor) and on gorseval(utility trade off)

Bulwark and sneak is meta in pvp

+ best cc on demand class (slick shoes)
+ decent aoe heal with HT even in berserk gear
+ top solo condi dps(might stack, vuln stack)
+ only one class from all 9class have raid meta build without elite spec
+same for marauder rifle in pvp

Engineers are my favorite class.

Engineers however are not the best class at anything in particular.

Engies are most balanced atm, Reapers and Heralds are hands down twice better cause they are OP.

I think chron still the “best” in gw2 its the only class who has a true cdr buff the only real cost for using an abitly in gw2.

Now for being a jack of all triads class if ele is the “stander” then yes but all elite spec for classes made every class in the game a jack of all triads only the ele class what left behind badly in that part of its game play.

After the alacrity nerf, chronos are getting kicked from alot of competitive group runs. It was the only thing mes had going for it in the eyes of alot of people apparently.

Edit: As someone who has almost all classes at 80, and lurks all the profession forums, there are three classes that come up repeatedly as the classes to beat. This is one of them, alongside reaper/necro and herald/revenant.

Its fairly balanced. Scrapper does not have 15k dmg spikes like COR, or 15k dmg like Gunflame, 10k dmg TS. Scrapper does not have Reaper easyness like just pressing 5 buttons and wait for condies to do the job while doing 4k attacks and 2hp bars, nor Heralds dmg/spike/heal + 2 weapons sets + 2 utility sets.

Scrapper have excellent sustain and escape mechanism. If you are doing poorly with those classes mentioned you are doing something wrong.

This is only small good thing … ‘’ + only one class from all 9class have raid meta build without elite spec ’’ This whole elite spec thing in this game is rubbish in mmorpg games… like yourself saying pretty much all others are ‘’out from a gameplay in a end’’ if not take it. So when it comes to ‘’build diversity’’ it sucks heavily to being just forced to took that.

I’d like to point out that you guys need to not generalize in your conversations about Engineer. The engineer is balanced fairly well, scrapper on the other hand is still power creeped to high heaven (as is reaper and herald hence them being the only classes you see being stacked). If you mean the engi then say the engi if you mean scrapper then say scrapper. It’s not hard and it goes a long way to keeping communication clear to avoid misunderstandings.

I love both base engi and Scrapper, design-wise. But you’re right about Scrapper being OP. It doesn’t change the fact that it looks and feels cool.
