As the title says, I’d like this thread to be a catalog of stealth nerfs they snuck by without having the decency to tell us about – I know there’s at least a couple. Here, I’ll start, with one I just noticed:

  • Rocket Turret Overcharge reduced in duration to seven seconds, down from ten.

Explosive Rockets has been listed as 7 seconds for a long time. Since August IIRC.

If the duration has gone down from 10 to 7, then it’s not a nerf, but a bug fix, as 7 seconds has been the intended amount.

Can anybody shed some light on the issue of bomb explosion radius? Because looking at the bug section of this forum tells me that forceful explosives decreases the radius of evasive powder keg, but I’ve had people tell me that bombs were stealth nerfed and the trait decreases the radius in conjunction with another trait (Grenadier I think).

The reason I mention this is because I’ve noticed that my bomb radii were bigger last night when I re-traited to a pistol+bombs/condition build. Today I traited back to my old build and the smoke bomb radius is increased by forceful explosives, only I don’t remember it the radii being this large before.

I feel a little odd about this, because I could have sworn that smoke bomb’s radius wasn’t as large as it looks now. So maybe it was a bug and it’s been fixed?

Before anyone bashes me, I could be completely mistaken. I’ve never cared what people told me about forceful explosives. I always just read the tooltip, check the bug sticky and went on with my game. It isn’t until now that I’m interested in whats up with it.

Incendiary Powder now can only occur every three seconds. Used to not have a limitation.

Forceful Explosives now is bugged reduces the radius instead of enlarging it. Causing the explosives like bombs to practically have to be inside the enemy to go off, possibly causing the same for mines, grenades and Elixir-Infused Bombs definitely affected. The splash radius is smaller then my thief’s dagger radius. Most noticeable underwater.

In my experience it does increase the radius of the bombs. At least in sPvP, the only place I’ve tested it.

In my experience it does increase the radius of the bombs. At least in sPvP, the only place I’ve tested it.

Does noticeably increase the radius of bomb kit skills 1-5 and big ’ol bomb, although no one is sure what the numbers are for it. However, tigirius is right about the reduction for evasive powder keg—the bomb literally must be touching the enemy to hit. Same goes for the bomb generated from kit refinement on bomb kit.

Holy misinformation!

First, the Forceful Explosions bug decreases the radius of the explosion from the Bomb dropped by Kit Refinement and Evasive Powder Keg ONLY. It works fine with all other bombs in PvE/WvW and sPvP.

Secondly, Incendiary Powder has had a hidden cooldown since at least BWE2 (or maybe it was BWE3) but it wasn’t always in the description of the trait.

Yeah Sorry I wasn’t more specific I mean with the bomb kit #1 and the grenade kit #1 both have been effected and thus is part of the reason why grenades miss more now then they did at launch even with the speed increase

(which they seriously need to increase to the speed of the AOE that occurs when switching to the grenade kit or the underwater speed of the grenades, weird that grenades fly faster underwater then they do on land, just another one of those weird engineer only physics things I guess sortof like being completely covered in chemicals and flames but not touching the thing you are covering with those chemicals and flames, did the Q get involved in this title? LOL)

they should change the throw speed back and/or grenade spread to the original seeing as they nerfed it by 30%. not that important but we have lost the title of best underwater class ):
