I’m beginning to work on a similar build, using 20/10/30/0/10 for traits, Healing/Flame/Rifle/Rocket Turrets, with a combination of Rampager, Carrion, Valkyrie and Cleric gear – now that the Healing Turret scales with the player, I want to actually get some oomph into my Healing Power.
Until they buff turrets, it really won’t be near as effective as most other builds. But I guess if you wanted to try it, maybe try flame turret, thumper, and FT with a rifle (maybe a geomancy or similar sigil) to keep them CCd and constantly hit by your turrets?

@Walorx, well our turrets did get buffed so that our condi damage, duration, healing power, and boon duration all increase our turrets in the respective areas, so for a condi build with the appropriate turrets (see what Anymras put) would possibly be stronger than other builds due to all the condi damage they’ll be doing.
@Anymras, ah yeah my using of Carrion is in sPvP due to the whole my engi is only lv 30 atm (working on him slowly due to splitting myself on sPvP and PvE =( ), i was thinking maybe doing something around the lines of Apothecary armor and carrion accessories for PvE though.

They are still extremely weak and die to practically any AOE attack though unfortunately. Let’s hope they get more survivable in the next patch!

I haven’t noticed them being THAT squishy to be honest, they seem to do pretty well (with the exception of rocket and rifle turrets, but i’ve noticed when i put them far back they not only don’t get attacked, but don’t die as much making them a lot stronger). That and i also take the trait where they blow up on death launching everything, so a lot of players in PvP tend to stop attacking them after they get thrown on their kitten the second or third time lol.

The 15% damage bonus XII trait does not affect the condition damage portion of the turret. Also it appears that turrets aren’t criting, so crit loses some priority in whatever condition turret build you are using. So you get pidgeon holed into a support role with your turrets. Their Damage isn’t too bad, but you can’t force them to focus the same target, and the long range ones will agro targets you may not want agro’d. Also gadgets aren’t critting at all still which is disappointing. The toolbelt skill for throw mines can crit, but not the skill itself (so wierd).
I spent a good 45 minutes trying to figure out a synergistic turret condition build, and I just can’t think of one.

I’ve been using a 20/20/30 build in s/tPvP and it’s doing REALLY well, I’ve been more than capable of killing people but what I noticed it really shines at is hi-jacking points. Haven’t tested it elsewhere due to engi still being low lv in PvE though.
