Very good thread indeed, extremely usefull post.

Reported this for a sticky, I find it that good and accurate.

One major flaw with conditions for an engineer, in my view, is that the traits to add conditon damage work on crit.
They should work on simple ‘chance on attack’ and not ‘chance on crit’.

Tolore: something you might want to add:

if a conditon is removed, it is only 1 condition at a time BUT it does remove the full stack of that specific condition.

So basically a condition removal removes a (random) type of conditions on you.

This is also important if you’re building for condition damage: try to work with several conditos, not just bleed or just burn.
And try to throw in non damage conditions as well (cripple etc). Not just because they help but also because I think the game system has no priority list on what is removed first.

Would also be interested in seeing working builds and gear based on this because i’d like some ideas to tinker my engi.

I am actually running 10/30/20/0/10 with Healing turret, Elixir gun, nades, tool kit and supply crate/mortar in a non optimised gear. I have most on-crit condition i suppose ( vulnerability instead of longer burn duration ), and the 20 point in Invention are for the increase mortar range/supply ( trait that is actually bugged ).
I like coated bullet, but i don’t know if crits on ennemies other than the target do apply on crit condition with Explosive shot/Poison Dart volley or if it’s just a waste of 10 points.

As for gear, i buyed the Vatlaaw set ( preci/condi/tough) + undead runes some time ago but don’t use it as i feel i will lack vitality to make the toughness worthwhile. Should i aim for carrion trinkets to compensate ?

Looking through my notes i see that someone on the forum suggested the prec/cond dmg/tough gear along with pow/vit/cond dmg jewlery…thats what i will aim for i think.

That’s basicaly what i was thinking to get with carrion stuff for jewelry , but i’d like some feedback before spending more gold. Also, what about pistols stats and sigils ? Rampager with sigil of earth ?
