Guild Wars 2

I am brand new to using the Engineer class and I am looking to the experienced Engineer players here for some help on a good PvE leveling build. Right now i am using Rifle with Med Kit, Flame Turret and Grenade Kit. I am liking it quit nicely so far. It’s fun to play and i can dispatch enemies quite fast. But i like to experiment with new builds and always like to keep up on what’s the best builds to use. So if you would leave your suggestions it would be greatly appreciated If you could leave links to the builds and traits that would be great too as i like to have those for help. Thanks in advance

Gear:
Go for Power, then Power+Precision, then Power+Precision+Ferocity gear.

Weapons:
Try out Pistol+Shield and Rifle and see what you like more.

Utility skills:
Get Bomb Kit, play around with the rest.

Traits:
Once you have 2 trait points put 2 points in Tools for Speedy Kits (Tools VI) if you have to run around. Switch to 2 points in Explosives for Forceful Explosions (Explosives III) if know you don’t need a speed boost for a while. Get both once you have 4 trait points.
Afterwards put points into Explosives and Firearms to get Power and Precision.
Once you unlock Master level traits you might want to add Backpack Regenerator (Alchemy IX) for more survivability.

Ok that sounds like it could be a good build. Anyone else got any suggestions with what they use? I’m putting together a build list.

I’ve leveled engineer to 80 twice. DesertRose pretty much has the optimal leveling path right there, at least for damage. No other options become comparable until you are level 80, and unlock the grandmaster traits.

If you want more survivability, then go for flamethrower with elixir gun. First two trait points go into tools for speedy kits, then you go down firearms for fireforged trigger and juggernaut. You’ll deal less damage, though.

Practice using healing turret as your main heal. To get the most out of it, drop it, overcharge it, then pick it up again as fast as possible. Default keybindings means that this action goes like this: 6 → 6 → F. Or burst it for a greater heal, by doing this: 6 → 6 → F1. If you pick it up, then you have one of the strongest heals in the game on a 15 second cooldown, which also removes 2 conditions.

Open world you should use the rifle aswell bombs are extremly good, especially if you run in circles, spamming 1 while the normally stronger champion dies while chasing you

In dungeons use Pistol + Shield for the combo finisher and utility. But I think this is a bit too early if you are asking for leveling.

The grenade kit becomes strong when you can trait it – means, you get an additional grenade (+50% dmg) and more range.

Engineer is a very complex class and probably the hardest class to master, due to the many combinations you can make. If you want I can give you smoe tips ingame, just pm me.
