Healing Mist - Stun Breaker
FT/EG build got buffed so hardcore this patch.
Best. Change. Ever.
I am really happy about this change as 10 sec regen every 40 seconds was a weak toolbelt skill. Makes multi-kit engineers viable. In fact you can even take 4 different kits (including medkit).

I really hope this wasn’t something unintended and is just missing from the patch notes.
Charr Engineer
Sanctum of Rall

I’m really not sure about this one.
It wasn’t in the leaked notes, and it wasn’t in the actual patch notes which indeed were identical to the leaked notes.
I’m really afraid we have another overnight hotfix coming our way…
This is just about the coolest stealth buff ever, and I doubt its unintended.
This means that we finally have at least 1 stunbreaker on each type of skill: kit, elixir, gadget, and turret.
Borlis Pass
Gives some value to the 40s cooldown regen boon, as the heal itself was meh for that amount of cooldown.

I agree it is a perfect place to add some spice.
Also the elixir gun is a great support kit, so it’s not a real issue of being overpowered.
But since it’s not in the patch notes… I’m really afraid for this one.
It’ll be clear soon: either hotfixed or mentioned in an update of the notes.
It’s a handy buff, but I don’t like skills that have a secondary use that’s more powerful than their primary use.
When you can’t use it as a small heal because you’ll throw the MUCH more powerful stunbreak on cooldown, you have a tree falling in the woods kinda deal.
Healing Mist’s effect (regen) is/has been AoE. Is the stun break also AoE, or is it self-only? Gah, I’m not at home to log in and check!

if it stays this way, than the skill is now a stunbreaker that adds some aoe regen.
Never again will it be seen as a regen skill, the regen is now a fun little side-effect.

Precisely!
Perhaps they should rename it to something more appropriate.
I was just about to take elixer gun off my utility bar in favor of rocket boots. With this change I may just want both…
alts: Fangyre (Necro), Hardrawk (Ele);

‘Clearing Mist’
“Smelling Salts”
I was just about to take elixer gun off my utility bar in favor of rocket boots. With this change I may just want both…
before I caved in to grenades and healing bombs for some pve, I used to run with FT-EG and Rocket Boots a lot, just for the sheer fun of it.
Think I’ll go for the fun again, sod it with the more practical design of the allpowerfull grenades…
Would like turrets though, but the traits are still all over the place.
Guess I’ll be experimenting again
“Smelling Salts”
I like that one.
Come to think of it, this new dev trend of putting stun breakers on Tool Belt skills makes Inertial Converter (15 points in Tools) much more powerful.

Indeed… I’m thinking there might be a good PVE support/dps FT/EG build with something like 10/20/0/20/20 but it will take getting home and tinkering a bit to see what it all shakes out to.

Not to mention the general cooldown reduction that comes from traiting into Tools.
Huh, I’ve always wanted to level an engineer using both FT and EG. or whatever brings the most support to the party, not only DPS (Yeah I love supporting in MMO).
Any build ideas? Is that viable in both PvE and WvW?
Two best FT-centric examples I can think of are nakoda’s FT/Rifle PvP control build, and Phineas Poe’s overall PvE examination of FT/EG. While traits have shifted around a bit, the principles of each ought to remain the same. I don’t have links handy, but if you can find their posts (and they are frequent posters) they have links to their respective essays in the signature line.
EDIT: Found them.

a reset on a stunbreaker is incredibly powerfull.
You know you’ll get it again, so you can safely use it above 25% first.
I fully agree with you here. This is a very strong improvement.

Wow man, thanks! I think I’ll take the second one Gotta love those support options.
Title says it all. Elixir Gun (as in kit builds) now has a stun breaker. Patch of the year all years.
Very happy with this particular change if this is legit – please dont nerf?!
I can honestly say I doubt (and am finally happy of it) that the elixir gun will leave my utillity slots any time soon. I’m very happy I can finally use 3-4 kits. This is how the engi was meant to be played. Lots of buttons, lots of options.
Dr Hoppenheimer – Engi / Meowzir – Guard /
Mulcibur Nox – Ele / Mr Directed – Mes
Huh. and here I was scouring the notes for a new viable stun breaker.
http://twitch.tv/alemfi/
okay, i just took EG off my bar a week ago… But in positive news, I have way too many options now for good builds thanks to trait fixes/rocket boots fix/this hidden buff.
NM found it lol…

There’s at least one other ability which got “stealth buffed” into a Stun Breaker, Elementalists’ Arcane Shield.
I imagine both that and this were intentional, since their whole thinking behind it was that every “build” (in this case I guess they’re thinking builds = sets of utilities, EG kits, elixirs, ect) needs a stun breaker. AS is the designated Arcane stunbreaker, and Healing Mist is the kit stunbreaker.

Still no excuse why they took stunbreaker off Elixir R.
I was disinterested in the engi changes until I read this. This is something that I can actually use! I’m a big fan of kits, so turrets and gadgets never really interested me, and that’s what most of this patch was about.
Doing what I can for DB during EU primetime
This change has made kit engineer possible, I kittening LOVE this
Best change for engineer this patch IMO, could not be frothing more right now :P

I think it is official http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Healing_Mist
Vent a healing mist, granting regeneration to yourself and allies.
Regeneration: 10 s (1300 health)
Radius: 240
Breaks stun
I don’t know if I just never noticed this before, but “Oil Slick”s toolbelt skill skill is a stun breaker. Runs at double speed for 5 seconds as a stunbreak? That seems crazy useful xD

Hope it is official though.

They made it a stun break with this patch ^^

Is it really double speed though? I may be mistaken, but I seem to recall reading at some point that tests indicated the speed gain to be about 40%, a far ways off from 100%.
If you are allergic to these ingredients, do not consume.

Not sure if it’s bugged or just badly worded. It’s only marginally faster than Swiftness when roaming, but when used in combat it takes you up to roaming speed, so definitely a noticeable increase there

Well the mist didn’t get fixed in the latest hotfix…
I… I.. I didn’t even notice. YEEJ! Totally makes up for the loss at Elixer R (I barely use elixer S and actually like Elixer R, but I guess it’s more balanced now). YEEEEEJ
Few adjusting patches later, with the tooltip still in eefect and all of that… think we have a keeper here.
Didn’t trust it at first, but by now I would be very surprised if they would still remove it.
A stunbreaker on an acceptable coodlown, that adds a nice little regen when you likely need it.
On a kit, or even better: on the toolbelt of a kit.
Who would have thought

Yeah I think Engis all over were collectively holding their breath for this one

WTF… is this in the patch notes?
Because that is excellent.
Physti – Elementalist | Fistful of Blades – Thief
[WHIP] Quaggan Slavers – HoD
Wait… has this ALWAYS been a stun break? I could use it even when knocked down… never knew why.

It could be used when stunned like FT’s Smoke Vent, but didn’t break it

Not sure given the absence of confirmation in the notes. Since it makes absolutely no sense to put it there, conceptually, there is a strong chance that this is intended. We’ll have to wait and see. The stun break shuffle is certainly a dance without grace.
Elixer gun finally gets some love. Now all they need to do is reverse the kit refinement nerf and we will actually have another viable-ish build choice.
