Hello all Engineers, we will soon get to test the scrapper in the upcoming beta weekend.
Because of this I think it would be a great oppertunity to see how the scrapper fits in WvW , PvP and PvE.

First, let us look at the Scrapper Trait line

Minor – Functioning Gyro – Activate a gyro to revive a fallen ally or finish a fallen enemy

Master trait line 1

Shocking Speed – Using a leap finisher or blast finisher in a lighning field applies superspeed for three secounds to all around you in a 240 radius

Stabilization Core – When a functioning gyro is activated, you and the functioning gyro gain 8 secound (2 stack) stability

Recovering Matrix – Using your heal skill temporarily reduces damage you recive for almost 6 sec -33% damage

Minor trait – Decisive Renown – When you revive an fallen ally or finish off a downed enemy you gain 5 might and 3 secounds of superspeed

Master tier 2

Rapid Regeneration – Rapidly regenerate health while affected by swiftness or superspeed. This gives you 470 heal per secound the superspeed is active. 470 × 3

Expert Examination – Stunning or dazing a foe applies 9 sec weakness and 9 sec of 5 stack vulnerabilty to them

Mass Momentum – Gain power based on your toughness . Gain migh while you have stability ( for each secound you have stability you will gain might and the power is based on 10% of toughness)

Minor trait – Impact Savant – The duration of your outgoing stuns is increased by 25% and the incoming stuns applied to you is reduced by 25%

Master trait 3

Adaptive Armor – Gain stacking toughness when struck. Reduce incoming condition damage by 20% and 100 toughness for 10 sec (max stack of 5)

Final Salvo – Gyros grant superspeed and create a lighning field when destroyed

Perfectly Weighted – Hammer skills deal 10% increased damage. Evading an attack grants 3 sec of stability (2 stacks).

Going through all the minor and master traits I can see alot of plays here. Being able to gain health, might, stability , toughness and superspeed and the use of gyros to do your dirty work.

Using the 2h Hammer in combination with FT which was buffed and using the juggernaugt trait to give stability which can give you might through Mass Momentum.

I honestly cant wait til we can start testing the builds and I hope alot of you record the videos and post them here while giving thoughts on the matter.

Well that WE care is out of question… but if they care is a different song. Anyways.. ill test the scrapper in high level fractals.. prepared enough infused ascended thingies to do so and given that they deleted the past beta chars its most likely a given they re-set the banks too, and the new content including raids. I got the very strong feeling that this isnt gonna be the magnum opus of pve specs… but then again.. busy with druid amirite?

This might not be the case, they said you would be able to continue leveling your masteries, but that was before the wipe. It might just have been the characters that was wiped, or it might have been the whole cloned account.

Well i hope they re-set the banks atleast…but then again why would they whipe the beta chars only? You can do that yourself without any issues. Seems weird to me :\

Corrupted data. I don’t have the original source of that info, it was just said on reddit, so I don’t know if it was corrupted character data or account data. I’m sure they want you to be able to continue leveling your masteries, so if they could save that data, they would.

Think I read somewhere that people used the transmute on beta characters and it was not given back when BWE was over.

Anyway I will be trying out scrapper in pvp and WvW hopefully and we will see how it works out ^^

Alrighty, I will be looking forward to what you can come up with man!

I will be using the Gyros in every combination I can come up with and see if there’s any situation where they do anything better than current popular (not necessarily meta) builds.

I have already given my initial thoughts about Gyros, and there has been a lot of feedback, but if feedback is more valuable after BWE3 I’m going to be 100000% sure they are useless before I give my feedback saying so.

I have a few trait concerns that I want to put into action before I decide one way or another about them.

I’m also worried about Superspeed stacking, but that’s not really a BWE3 feedback that’s general game mechanics. If they don’t fix it Scrapper takes a huge hit.

I’m not worried about hammer at all, I will likely be using it all weekend.

nope is a FULL wipe. you have to get masteries again BUT you have a new fresh copy of the bank. The actual copy happen on FIRST BETA CHARACTER CREATION.

Seems like an extremely irrational mentality to have going into a beta. I do not see the logic in setting expectations to be the extremes and only the extremes.

Gear will be soldier’s and/or knight’s with an intelligence sigil so that I can survive long enough to learn the encounter. If DPS becomes a problem or if I find that the extra stats don’t help, I’ll move towards zerker.

I also may swap the Perfectly Weighted trait for Adaptive Armor since the dps increase won’t matter much with kit swap.

Irrational mentality? If you played the game as long as I have, there is nothing irational about it. There is hardly a time where its 100% perfect the first time. I’m not a pessimist tho, I really hope its awesome! I’m just not naive either ^^ Lets hope for the best.
