Hey guys when taking a look at the engineer its hard think that a kit that is melee range has no quick way to the target…..especially when heavy armor professions have whirl charges.
So my idea: Explosive charge.
The Engineer would charge in and drop a line of bombs all the way to the target and a big bomb at the end to send targets flying. This would replace glue bomb.
Let’s be honest when there are better immobilizes like glue shot and net shot do we really need another?

Glue bomb is rubbish, and engineer is completely missing working gap openers closers leaps.
Although I’d suggest that this and big old bomb be changed to implodes, pulling enemies in not away, and synergising properly with the tiny range on bomb kit.
Bomb kit is way too easy to just stroll away from.
I want to replace glue bomb with a gap closer, Donkey Kong style. You jump into an explosive barrel and roll towards or away from your enemies, hitting it again to trigger a small explosive aoe knock-back similar to an elementalist’s dagger#5.
Glue Shot isn’t really that great either, at least in my opinion. The only reason it’s even usable is because we can land a 1s immobilize more often due to the ground targeting.
I think a gap closer idea is interesting in the Bomb set. I really like the idea. I would also like to see them simply buff Glue though, so I’m somewhat conflicted.
The flamethrower used to have an area pull back before it was nerfed several times. I think the original idea was for engineers to completely dominate an area with turrets and weapons. Unfortunately, that proved to be too overpowered in tournament maps so those abilities were nerfed, but that left us with very few gap-closers/mobility skills.
So yes, it would be good. I’d actually rather see the old flamethrower pull come back in some way. The ability to pull people into bombs would be great—even if we had a mobility gap-closer, it’s still nearly 2 seconds from when you press a bomb ability to when it explodes.
We have gap closers. What is Magnet and Jump Shot? I admit they’re not as HURRAGH as Guardian’s Leap of Faith or Blinding Blade, or Warrior’s Rush, but they do exist.
However, with that said, glue bomb could use some love. Perhaps for 5 seconds it applies a 0.5 second immobilize every second? Like the super frustrating oozes in the Shaman fight.

I agree—I think the engineer was kind of designed around the idea that we’d have access to a lot of our weapon kits at the baseline, in addition to some other utilities. Don’t get me wrong, engineer is already in a pretty decent place, but so many essential abilities can only be gained one way, i.e. no stunbreaks without elixirs (or gadgets, lol), no condition removal without elixirs or kit refinement, no gap closers without magnet, etc. There’s a reason so many of our builds are grenades, 1 elixir, 1 other kit/elixir.
When I opened this thread, I was expecting something more like making #1 stick to an enemy when used in melee range or making it a trait…
If you want to replace glue bomb, it should just be like jump shot but create a slow field at your target locating (or maybe both starting location and target location).
