Turret Traits still NOT fixed
In before a dev comes in and claims they are working fine :
Rifled Turret Barrels is horribly broken, i decided to make a small video about it to show it does not apply the 15% extra damage.
First Test : Rifle Turret
532 damage without Rifled Turret Barrel Trait
532 with Rifled Turret Barrel Trait
Second Test : Rocket Turret
887 damage + 328 dott without Rifled Turret Barrel Trait
887 damage + 328 dott with Rifled Turret Barrel Trait
Third Test : Flame Turret
142 damage + 328 dott without Rifled Turret Barrel Trait
142 damage + 328 dott with Rifled Turret Barrel Trait

Change settings to 1080p for best quality.
Conclusion, Rifled Turret Barrel Trait does not apply the 15% damage bonus.
This test was done on a naked Character, only had the standard pvp pistol to create aggro, talent spec was : 30 points in Inventions.
On tests without i put in 30 in inventions but did not choose a trait.
On tests with Rifled Turret Barrels i put in 30 in Inventions and chose the Trait.
Hope this is sufficient proof that the Trait is broken, and i hope a dev or someone sees this
Yea…sigh The April 30th patch really broke things and who knows when they will get fixed given the history of engineer bugs still outstanding…

This was hotfixed in after the patch. And no, nothing about Scope. Ow well, it only took ’em a month(?) to fix 3 traits that were completely broken. Cant really wish for much more then that.

This month’s patch was early, so it’s actually “only” been two weeks since the turret traits went down. Thanks to Joxer for doing the testing and getting this noticed.

Rifled Turret Barrel Trait seems to work now
Just tested it on a light golem.
Without the trait I got 566 damagepoints per hit
With the trait 651 dp/hit
Cant test the other traits yet….

Maybe engineers need some good old patch testing with every patch, so that we can get hotfixes ASAP? XD
Yes, Turrets can now perform better but still be ultimately useless.
Well, my only complain on turrets right now is autotool installation. 10% heal every ten seconds is really low. I’m hoping it gets combined with metal plating to make it more worthwhile.

They probably just did something stupid like add a whole other set of turrets with the stats they wanted to use and then forgot to tell traits to all affect that set of turrets instead of the old set.
Also, they’ve mentioned that they’ll be working on traits; whether this means ‘well, we’re going to be navel-gazing’ or not…well, that’s the question.
On a brighter note: I’m pretty sure this is the first hotfix that’s ever been for the Engineer.
After a brief testing, I am already relieved a bit about the traits in the invention line, I just wished scope would have gotten the same treatment.
Now there are still 2 major issues affecting turrets :
- The Hitbox beeing too big.
- Turrets not attacking Huge bosses like the Shadow Behemoth or Nightmare Tree (TH).

So getting traits that were broken a month earlier fixed counts as a victory now days?

Sarcasm aside, it is nice having these traits back. Despite my turrets having an average lifespan of 0.1 sec. I still try to make them work. I started the engineer to be an engineer and Ill be kitten if im going to let being UP force me to conform into being a grenade or elixir tossing monkey.
So um… on a related hitbox note, I dropped Supply Crate on an unmanned ballista with no nearby thing to aggro, fully expecting it to start attacking the ballista. Did nothing. Flame Turret just sat there and looked at the thing. Have it on video.
