Welcome to the new HGH+FT meta in sPvP
Poe, have you run a marauder’s build with HGH and Hoelbrak or Strength? I don’t main my Engineer but I go power when I want the Engineer daily and am shocked at how fast it burns down Thieves and Mesmers. Not targeting people in stealth is wonderful. Not only that if people don’t focus me I usually get multiple down at mid. I think most people think I’m condi at first and don’t prioritize the FT Engie.
I think Marauder is too squishy, personally, to use with the FT. With grenades it’s great, though.
Are you using Juggernaut to just to Pre-Stack might before an engagement or do you camp it whilst blowtorch is on cool down?
Oh, crap. I just realized that. No, I’m not using Juggernaut. Sorry, I’ve fixed it.
IP > Jugg imo. moar burns
currently a Boyfriend main :P

Okay. The build makes a lot more sense now.
I really like Juggernaut, but it does not provide nearly enough benefits to justify camping it ever.
I can attest that this is strong, very strong.

I tried this build and a Mara build with Elixer S instead of EGun and came to the conclusion that you are a worse d/d Cele Ele in nearly every way.
In addition even with might stacking as Cele you hit Guards/Ele like a wet noodle because they have infinite condi clear.
Against Mesmer/Thief instead of getting 100-0 in a single combo you get dropped to 15-20% of your HP and then have to use heal/dodge while they continue pressuring and get another stealth.

You have to stagger your burns. You can’t just pop everything and think you’re going to win. Cleansing Wave has a pretty gigantic animation cue. Wait until they use it and then pop them with Blowtorch. With guardians, their condition cleanse is a lot better, but if you save Kinetic Battery for Incendiary Ammo you’ll pressure them enough to win most 1v1s.
Mesmers and thieves are like the easiest match-ups with a burn build. They have pretty bad condi cleanse and are usually running baseline vitality for power burst.
The only class I have trouble with running conditions is obviously necromancers. The only match I lost today (I played 6-7 before taking a break) had three necros on the opposite team. There were two full matches I played back to back where I didn’t even die once.
…So I really have to disagree with your assessment of our strength. FT/TK condi is strong. Very strong. Probably too strong.
And if you’re getting blasted, don’t hesitate to use the med pack drop with Kinetic Battery. It’s basically a full heal if you pick up all the packs. If you can’t survive beyond that, you gotta learn mesmer animations and anticipate their burst. I’ve even dropped vigor out of my build and have chosen to go with Chem Round and Protection Injection.

I play a very similar build and I can attest that it’s strong (although not optimal and not likely to ever be meta) and fun to play. However, your condi damage seems a bit low. Have you tried taking Pinpoint Distribution instead of Skilled Marksman? You go above 700 without might, which is the threshold from which you start to deal real damage.
