What is your favorite thing about this profession so far? For myself it would have to be a combination of Superior Rune of the Centaur (Area swiftness on heal) and the med-kit. This essentially replaces the dependence on speedy kits for perma-swiftness as well as helping nearby teammates. Also, net turret.

My one gripe with this profession as of now is being unable to launch myself 100 feet in the air with rocket boots while in the water.

I really like the toolbelt. I think its a much more interesting mechanic than most other classes get.

First game I’ve played with a real steampunk class.

Rifle skillset.

Short cooldown super CC, short cooldown net for easy kiting. I just love it.

My gripe though…

Lack of viable damage non grenade builds.
I went into this game, planning on running with FT. Guess that ain’t gonna happen soon.

Turrets and bombs. I absolutely love creating a perimeter and destroying everything around or in it. I haven’t checked out alchemy yet but I might like that too.

I agree on the toolbelt. Awesome gameplay.

I like all of the Engineer themes, execution is what pushes me away, i love grenades, but ages of being forced into them to DPS has made me so bored, i tried a flamer spec recently for PvE and i loved it, however i would have liked to buff through elixirs, but the radius is so small and buffs too random, so i end up now just throwing them on myself for extra might that i quite desperately need for my flamer, though i try to stand next to people when i do.

I love turrets, explosions, guns, potions, gadgets, tool belts. I just think that they are too weak which is why my attention is being drawn to Warrior who i was not only enjoying, but very effective with.

But every time, i look at my engineer and go ‘No, im not giving up on him…’

I just really enjoy the variety. I can play turrets, I can play kits (I never do.. but I could…), I love the ability to use gadgets, the utility of elixirs, I feel like I have a skill or two that fits any situation. That means, I should have the necessary skills to meet any challenge, and whether I do or not is totally up to my skill. I know that I struggle with say Mesmer’s and Theives spvp damage, but I don’t feel like there is a hard counter to the engineer class as a whole, because if one thing isn’t working, I could go and change up my skills and be a radically different beast, which is pretty cool for me.
