I agree with the Nerf so far… but i feel like it is unfinished work… I definitly think turrets should scale with the players stats and maybe should even be able to Crit.. an interesting way of balancing them would also be to allow them to have boons.. protection would counter some of the increased damage from crits and the new temporary invulnarability to conditions boon could counter the condition damage a little. It would be quite simple to implement and would enourage the player to think a bit more and manage boon uptime on turrets which would give the “no skill” turret engineer some skillrequirements.
I have seen alot more ideas to give turret builds a more active playstyle in the forums and i think that developers have to look over it and find out what works and what doesnt.
Im a fan of a big variety of viable builds and i think its wrong to destroy a build completely just because it didnt require a lot of skill to win against weaker enemies.
Id much rather see them increase the skillcap for turrtet builds.

I personally wish they would spend more time on the current game but that is clearly not the direction anet management wants to go in.

Why would they waste excessive effort & time on fixing current stuff when wit the release of HOT balance will go out through window either way and will then need fixing. It’s just redundant to make any major changes now because it requires people on it and people are resources. Resources better spent on Xpack now and focusing on polish and gathering feedback when it releases.

the only nerf turrets needed was simply conditions to affect them as at least it requires multiple skills usually to stack multiple conditions
but making turrets critable was overboard when in this game critical damage goes all the way up to Quad damage if you use ferocity gear and traits
