Can Guardians solo well at 80?
Guardians are perfectly capable of laying down the pain. They don’t have as much burst damage as many other classes, but their sustained damage is high, and they have no trouble surviving in melee long enough to deal that sustained damage.
My particular oddball build has no trouble landing 1.6k autoattacks (up to 2.2k once you get the might stacks rolling), which doesn’t sound amazing at first—but they’re all AoE, and I’m bordering on invulnerable to normal mobs. This, combined with a couple small burst skills (Whirling Wrath on the GS has no trouble dealing around 6k damage, and Mighty Blow can deal 4.5k without a second thought), plus the frequent retaliation and burning Guardians can put out, keeps my damage output very respectable. I’ve certainly scared off and killed my share of glass cannons in PvP, and pulling and killing 6+ mobs is routine.
Meanwhile, I pack enough group condition removal and boon application to ensure that I’m in high demand whenever people group up for dungeons. Guardian might be fundamentally a “support” profession, but their “support” often involves around increasing allies’ damage—and the only ally guaranteed to be affected by all of your supportive aspects is yourself.

Cool thanks for the info. When soloing what do you use for a secondary weapon combo? I figured GS would probably be one of them, what do you generally keep as your off-set to swap to?
Yeah, guardians can solo very well, depending on what kind of build you are using.
LOL. J.k
Really, it doesnt matter what you run as long as you are having fun doing it. Being the guardian class means you are automatically equipped with a regeneration utility known as “virtue of resolve”/ a ability that automatically grants aegis “Virtue of courage”, and the ability to apply a condition on every 5th attack (Burning) “virtue of justice”. This automatically ups your survivability when soloing/farming.
No other class gets those kind of specials at lv 1.

My Build The Legendary Defender
As a solo guardian myself, I rarely teamed, only teaming when i had to do dungeons, I will tell you that the Mace/shield and Staff is one of the best tools for soloing. Very good AoE cabability on both weapons, and great heals on both. Enabling you to pull several mobs, and with combined utilities, kill them all with impunity.
I have personally never used a greatsword, but I heard amazing things about it. I know symbol of wrath is very good farming tool. As it grants AoE damage and utility. As well as granting you a leap finisher which you can either go through combo field : light for retaliation, or a combo field : fire, to grant you a fireshield, which will burn enemies attacking you.

Greatsword is probably our best solo weapon, so long as you carry something more defensive/ranged as your swap for when you run into tougher enemies. Scepter/focus works well, as does staff. You can get away with pretty much anything, though; I generally run hammer most of the time for dungeons. That low-cooldown blast finisher is amazing. Open-world, most of the time I actually run hammer/greatsword. That gives you a bit more burst with the #2 ability on each weapon.
I’ve been able to solo champions as a guardian using a mace/shield. The only ones so far I haven’t been able to kill by myself are some of the champions in Orr and the lvl80 ice zone.
Every class can solo without any problems, really.
Necro 80
Memser 80
Thief 7x
Guardian 80
Guardian is by far the strongest solo character I have.
Why? The way traits are for Guardian by specing heavy defensive you actually don’t lose much DPS but gain massive amounts of survivability.
Here the build I use:
Stats:
My Stats:
Power: 1801
Crit: 44%
Crit dmg: 30%
Toughness: 2199
HP: 15,915
Please note you can and SHOULD be changing utilities and weapon(s) as needed.
I go into Orr and take on x2 Vets or more with a full complement of trash….
Gear is full Toughness/Precision/Power and use both kinds of Nourishment that add stats based on your Toughness.
Legendary & Crafting:
GS is what I am after which require Armor/Weapon crafting. Perfect combo because you wear what you craft and when you hit 80 you have a full set of exotic gear. Cost wise look at what you would pay for a full set at 80 and look at how much it would cost you to craft it as you level. Crafting is cheaper
So you got your crafting and your Legendary sorted now

is thier anyway to reset ur crafting ;x :P
is thier anyway to reset ur crafting ;x :P
Sort of. You can just ask another master crafter to teach you Profession 3 (and choose to unlearn Profession 1) and then if you want to go back to Profession 1 later, you can talk to Profession 1’s master crafter to reactivate it (and choose to unlearn either Profession 2 or 3) at a cost in silver.
