Stats are too spread out. Pick something with more of a focus on stat allocation

And no strenght
Actually, you do have a weakness. A big one. Divnity gear allocates stat points to magic find, which isn’t a meaningful gameplay stat. So while yes, it does cover everything, it has less points total to give to stats that benefit you in gameplay.
Painbow.6059: Ignore what anyone else who doesn’t agree with me has said because its wrong.
In general, guardians only use burning. Condition Damage is mostly a waste. Burning does high amounts of damage anyway. Healing power is always good, but critical damage without precision wont really help seeing as Guardians have only 1 skill which provides fury on their bar at most times, and that’s only if they run shouts.
The stat spread doesn’t seem that good for a pure setup or guardian. In conjunction yes with knights maybe on a warrior? I can imagine a warrior using a mix of knight’s+those stats, if they focus on adrenal regen.
All divinity ascended gear isn’t optimal for any type of build because of the reasons stated above. However, 2 pieces mixed with another more specialized set can be helpful in an over-all bump to stats.
The div gear does have good stats if you want to make a balanced build. The biggest drawback of it is lack of power stat.
I actually use the Celestial-stat gear on my build. Why? I use every stat in the game fairly heavily (even condition damage), so perhaps a better question would be “why not?”. I have high power, a high crit chance, and very decent crit damage, so berserker gear is all well and good. But I also have a 1:1 scaling heal whenever I dodge, so some healing power is a great way of keeping myself and my allies alive. My VoJ active burns enemies for 5 seconds, so I get a 1.25:1 scale on condition damage via burning, and it’s refreshed every time I kill an enemy, so having a couple hundred condition damage translates to 300-500 extra armor-ignoring damage per VoJ use—not huge, but far from useless, especially when I can spam it like crazy in fights with a lot of mobs, stacking might on myself to increase both power and condition damage even further. Toughness and vitality are always handy, especially when I run WvW—a hard-to-kill Guardian with permanent retaliation up will make many zergs think twice about attempting to take you down. Magic find, well… I’m not a fan of the stat in general, but having a bit does help your drops out.
So, if I’m going to make use of all the stats in any given fight (possibly excepting magic find), I might as well have all the stats. And, as it turns out, Celestial gear gives you a lot more total stats total than mixing gear. So, if I want to run a build that’s good at nearly everything, it’s actually perfect.
Edit: look at it this way. If I want power, crit chance, crit damage, toughness, and vitality, I can get, say, a Crystalline Band and a Lost Seal of Usoku. That’ll give me a net +206 power, +68 precision, +8% crit damage, +68 toughness, and +68 vitality. If I instead get Solaria and Lunaria as my rings, I can get +86 power, +86 precision, +12% crit damage, +86 toughness, and +86 vitality. I also get +86 condition damage and +86 healing, both of which I can take advantage of quickly and frequently in my build, and +8% magic find as a side bonus. The question you want to ask yourself is: am I getting enough extra damage from the 120 extra power I get from mixing two different ring stats to make up for the loss of 4% crit damage (which, with a ~50% crit chance, provides an average about a 2% DPS increase), +86 condition damage (which nets me about 107.5 extra damage every 5 seconds), 18 precision, 18 toughness, 18 vitality, and 86 healing power (which scales very, very well if you have the heal-on-dodge trait and high vigor uptime, combined with extra healing from Virtue of Resolve, regeneration and whatever other healing weapons/utilities you have access to)?

Kharel, it really is a difference between a “jack of all trades” build and a specialized build. With all-stat accessories, you miss out on a great deal of things, even though you get a general “all around” buff. You’ll never do as much damage as you potentially could with other accessories, and you’ll never do as much healing or damage mitigation either. If your playstyle requires certain stats over others, celestial won’t actually help you, it will simply kitten you.
For instance, a regen Guardian would need at least 1300 healing power to be optimally effective. A tank Guardian needs 3000+ armor. Certain builds require the highest crit chance possible. It all is dependent on how you play.
If the celestial stats work out for your playstyle, that’s great. But if you specialize in stats towards a specific style of play (DPS/Tank/Heal), then go with something else.
Daecollo is a huge troll and even bigger QQ’er when it comes to guardian and warrior forums. He never has a legit question, only a complaint hidden behind his post.
In short though, your tears fuel us Daecollo and I wish I could be the guardian stomping you in WvW over and over again to prompt you to come back to the guardian forums and continuing the streams of crying.

I love it if your refering to the celestial gear with all stats you get a descent amount of everything couple that with divinity runes your sailing. I also run the sigil of perception along with master maintenance oil + butternut squash soup to get my precision up. I am running an AH build with knights gear.

In wvw this build is actually insanely good. If anyone is in the T8 matchup I know of someone who runs this and dominates most people simply because of his stats (his skill isn’t even that good)
He basically runs berserker armor with divinity runes and celestial-ascended trinkets. His crit chance is 50%, crit dmg almost 110%, armor rating at somewhere around 2600 and power at like 2.xk (don’t remember). He has 900 healing power with full sigil of life stacks.
Basically he’s as tanky as the rest of us but can instantly down people with 1 whirling wrath. Honestly if I had the patience I’d farm fractals for the gear so I would literally become the immortal-destroyer Guardian (lolol) and easy mode through everything but that’s just too much work!

Perhaps what I’m getting at is that if you’re trying to do only one thing, sure, you’re best off getting gear with only one stat. However, if you want to do two things (for instance, deal a lot of damage without being a complete glass cannon), celestial gear is actually one of the most efficient ways of going about it. You end up not even losing out on that much damage, in the end.

I don’t know if I share your views on your friend, Darek. In order to reach those stats with the armor/runes/trinkets you’ve referenced, you basically have to run a triple signet build for the passive stats, and never activate them. Thus, you are basically missing out on 3 utility powers, have poor condition removal (which is a death sentence in WvW), and are running with a lower health pool and lower armor rating than most AH/EM builds for essentially a slight boost in damage output over that build.
That’s based around this build:
(Copy and paste into your browser window to view. Clicking on it will get you an error message.)
So yeah, you have a good all-around build, but you miss out on a ton of utility and a good amount of survivability. I think a more tanky build with some berzerker trinkets mixed in would be better for a WvW damage build, and it wouldn’t require grinding out a ton of ascended gear to make viable.
Anyone reading this, think long and hard before investing your laurels/whatever into celestial gear, since it may not be the best for your build.
You seriously just underestimate the build. He actually runs 3 shouts (maybe replacing one with another consetration) with pure of voice, so he’s not so poor at removing conditions. I run a very similar build to the one you mentioned and its not even close to what he runs.
Fact is he barely has less survivability than me.. yet has about double my damage.

Hi Darek,
Then please help me understand the build he’s running, because given the information you’ve shared, its impossible to reach those stats you mentioned without a triple signet build.

And still np with running 3 shouts with Pure of Voice trait!
I’d say the only thing I really messed up on was power which I kinda knew when I first wrote it since I wasn’t so sure.

Darek,
Thanks for taking the time to break down that build. It’s definitely interesting. If I ever get around to grinding out extra ascended gear, I’ll definitely test it out. :-)
From a theorycrafting perspective, it definitely seems like a pretty good damage/survivability build. I’m willing to bet it’s especially good for PvE.
I was wondering how he did that, but ya the guy’s build is very effective.

The only thing I’d call bad about that build is your ending power, but kitten that looks really powerful if you know what you’re doing. I’d like to see the #s anyone running this build is hitting through video, if possible.

I run 2.9k armor rating and he hits me for about 10k with a full whirling wrath. I usually don’t just let him hit me anymore if I run into him though lol, so I’m not exactly sure how much everything else hurts.

I’m just not understanding how some of these hits are possible frequently. I’m at 99% c. dmg and my whirling wraths generally hit for 4-5k on level 80 PvE targets. C. dmg does have a reliance of your attack, because without the # being multiplied somewhat high then your overall result won’t be ‘beastly’
> The way whirling wrath works is that each new # you see is a build up of the total number you’ve hit, right?

You have to factor in might, condition damage, crit, and 101% crit damage into those numbers. Remember, might increases both damage and condition damage.
Dont know about you guys but I tend to hit players harder than mobs
