yes it does. Ofc it works even better with teammates since it get stronger by buffing the team. When soloing the major thing isnt the boons from shouts and symbols, its actually vigorous precision which makes you able to dodge approximately every third hit.

There are stronger solobuilds ofc but honestly how often in this game are you solo and not even an friendly npc to buff.

Works wonders with pet necros btw if you gonna team up with someone.

If you are going solo and use empowering might and 2h mastery its at least 400 heals every chain+mb you do. Its a very mobile way of playing, dodging every 5th second and if you want more laidback then i dont recommend this.

Cheers. Build was perhaps the wrong word, although I do intend on seeing what ideas other people have had, so looking at their builds wouldn’t hurt a theory crafter ^^

One more question Brutaly:
In your guide, you say that you aim for 75%-105% crit damage. According to the build and gear you posted , I only see you reaching 50% crit damage. Where do you get the rest of crit damage? is 50% crit damage enough anyway?

I open my eyes on new mecanisms of the gardian, other one than only play heal support, and i’ll play my gardian with new way of play. For now i’m playing Spirit Weapons build, funny for Creuset of Eternity farming set.

But I really want to try the hammer style. And i’m not sure.
I speak about Donjon playing. McM would be for later.

1/ For now i have 3/6 exotic set from Orr Karma: Power/Vitality/Thoughness, and 3/6 gold set Power/Vitality/Thoughness too.
How do you think I must Rune my stuff ? Should I change for the Power/ Precision/Critic Damage set of CoE ?

2/ When you link your builds, it’s always with sPVP jewels. I want more to play PvE style (Donjons).
Can I reach those stats you posted without spvp jewels ? Wich jewels did you use ? (Beryl ? )
Is survivabilty good without Thoughness/vitality in CoE set, juste withsoldier rune ?

So many questions, but it take a long time to change stuuf, we should do it wisely.

I think you are confusing crit damage with crit chance here.

On my wvw build i have 48% crit chance and 76% crit damage. Ingame if you hover the cursor over the the crit chance stat you can see your crit damage.

On my pve build (berserker) i have 51% crit chance and 104% crit damage.

You cant use the buildtools for stats since you can get much more critdamage and crit from pve gear then spvp gear and the build tools only display spvp gear.

And you will die from two hits, the amount of crits on the hammer keeps your endurance high so you dodge at least every 4 seconds so you wont be hit twice, that is the point.

Use Knights gear and you will have plenty of toughness and healthpool is just a buffert allowing for more mistakes.

The thing is that in a group situation a knight geared crithammer guardian gets 2k health every 5 seconds or so and has also access to even more thru virtues and shouts.

if you want more health then use runes or accessories to get it.

I can fill my health pool with 6 instant abilities and still have my healskill up for grabs.

its fast, active and its brutal and it doesnt suit everyone.

Brutaly I realize that the build tools do not include the gear itself, but this has no influence on crit damage: crit damage can only be improved through trait or runes.
So that’s why I’m asking where you’re getting the 75%-100% crit damage from.

edit: sorry, I checked gw2db and you can get critical damage on gear from various gear. my mistake!

Keep this one up there with Brutaly’s. Hey quick question that I can’t find an answer to, but I put Sigil of Accuracy on my weapon +5% crit and it never added to my stats. Is this currently bugged?

Weapon bonuses do not show up on the character stats (Bug) but they work properly.

@Marthiarn- I was just curious, did you achieve the high toughness and crit and sacrifice having low power? I have 4 Knight pieces, 2 zerker and beryl accessories. I might change it up a bit to get some more toughness since it also adds to our crit with out trait build.

This build has helped me tremendously and is absolutely fantasic with a group. I’ve always loved hammers and got sick of people saying GS is the only way to go. So much more utility and longevity with HAMMER!!

Edit: BTW, we should petition for some better looking hammers. No imagination with the graphics. Punisher by far looks best imo, but its nothing special.
