See you in Tyria.

Massivley OP:
There have been hints at new core mechanics for each profession based on its elite specialization, such as an alternate way to take advantage of life force for Necromancers. Can you elaborate a bit more on some of the new mechanics, and have you any plans for future specializations with entirely new mechanics?
Jon Peters:
Fundamentally, we’re altering how players play the game with their chosen profession. In the first set of specializations, that often means altering the profession mechanic. For example, the active version of the virtues for the Guardian profession are going to be different. (This is found at the end of the article)

If Virtue work like the exemple they give about the Elementalist then I guess that our base virtue recharge rate will be
Justice : 25.5sec, if you take Virtue trait line : 21sec
Resolve : 51 sec, if you take Virtue trait line : 42sec
Courage : 76.5sec, if you take Virtue trait line : 63sec
To make things better looking
Justice : 25sec, if you take Virtue trait line : 20sec
Resolve : 50 sec, if you take Virtue trait line : 40sec
Courage : 75sec, if you take Virtue trait line : 60sec
So Elites will change our Virtues completely, or simply add things like protection, regen, etc?
I’m a bit worried where they’re taking the Guardian class. Especially after the comment “Guardians are known for their burns” comment….
If I get an AOE Taunt skil that forces enemy players to walk my direction to attack me, running into ring of warding and/or taking damage from my symbols then sure, i’ll jump on that hype train.
I hope they make it strong just not too strong that everyone will start playing this class. I like this class because it can be played with a similar playstyle as a warrior, and isn’t nearly as popular as the warrior. more unique. hate playing something that everyone else plays
Pve-wise I don’t care as you can just run utility+ zerkers and we are still ridiculously relevant. But for pvp I wouldn’t mind burn as long as it doesn’t pigeonhole us into condi damage. I think hybrid damage guardian can be ridiculously good. The arguments that we only have access to one condition are flawed as they don’t account for the fact its the strongest and most spammable condition of ours. The current hybrid guard in pvp is a viable build and with the poison sigil gives us access to near constant poison and +33% dmg burns.
The only thing I hope they stay away from is more shouts and spirit weapons.
Symbol augments would be useful too. Perhaps something like foes are chilled for 1 second if they are on a symbol when it is initially created.
Did I read these articles right? I can be 0/0/6/6/6 valor, honour, virtue and still have 100% zerker stats? No more healing power and toughness?
Fadeaway: yes you are right. The trait lines won’t affect your stats anymore.
I’m not sure if I understood correctly; will the +30% condition duration from traiting Zeal and +30% boon duration from traiting Virtues be lost after the new trait system comes?

That one of the big question remaining. They simply didn’t talk about those in particular.
My guess is that they will improve greatly gear that give those stats (giver), which are terrible bad right now because they give so small amount of them. If they do that, they will probably introduce a couple of new stats combinaison with those 2 stats in them.
Will we see a Condition Damage, Condition Duration, Precision set?
