Guild Wars 2

Just got my guardian up to 80 thanks to the Crown Pavilion, but I’m a little lost in terms of which direction I should take his build. I’ve looked around a lot but most of the popular builds seem to be a little outdated — what are the couple of standard builds people are running atm? (I kept getting booted out of dungeons as a ranger so I want to make sure that my guardian build is “acceptable”)

well, ive been playing around with the “healway” build its fun and versatile but im not sure how competitive it is cause im new to guardians aswell

Yep – that’s exactly what I’m looking for. I rushed leveling so I’m still new to many of the nuances of the class, so any advice on which traits to pick, which weapons/runes to use, which trinkets and accessories, which slot skills, etc. would be much appreciated.

imo, a very stong DPS oriented build. excels with a good group. can be extremely punishing if you’re not used to it. does it work in PvP/WvW? perhaps but you’re going to be pretty squishy.

one note to new Guards or players in general with a new class – always take the time to learn all the skills, what they do in different situations. i always carr at least one of each weapon type with me wherever i go. after checking out various guides find one that you enjoy but there’s never a need to follow it to the T. make your own tweaks and adjustments and own it. cause afterall, you’re the one playing YOUR Guardian. : ))

[added: ultimately, it will really depend on what you want to do with your Guardian! PvE / WvW / PvP? when then can be further broken down into dungeons, fractals, open world bosses, farming, exploring… zerg busting, roaming, havoc squads, commanding… point holdnig, semi-roaming, bursting, team support. the list goes on. i for one can change my build up to a few times every session i sit down and play depending on what i’m doing. i never had ONE build that i stick to lol. a problem in itself but i have a lot of fun with it. so experiment! and fight the good fight.]
