Q:

So say you got the Soldier runes in your armor (removes a condition when using a shout), have Pure of Voice in your traits (when using a shout, converts a condition into a boon for allies), and you pop the Save Yourselves skill (places nearby allies conditions on yourself), in what order do these happen in? What exactly comes out of having these three together?

Pure of Voice is very buggy and doesn’t convert boons properly for some shouts. So in reality what will happen is you will cure 2 conditions on yourself and allies and then absorb the remaining into yourself.

Then the wiki is wrong, SY removes conditions from you and your ally when used with pure of voice. And the condition is removed before the conditions is transfered to the guardian thru SY.

So basically if all your allies has one condition each and you use pure of voice and SY then not a single one lands on the guardian. Pretty neat group support imo.

Are you sure it’s Pure of Voice removing the condition and not your 6/6 Soldier’s Runes?

Also, is it possible it’s moving all the conditions to you, then removing 1 condition from you?

Generally if everyone has 1 condition it will be the same one so if they all moved onto you into 1 stack, and then removed by either 6/6 soldier or PoV wouldn’t that appear the same?

I guess one way to know would be to see if the affected allies got a boon from it?

I dont have runes in my pve gear and i did this in Orr just before i posted the last post. It removed chill, bleed and poison. 100% sure.

I played alone to check it.

The rest, in which order pure of voice and runes kick in, was tested by me during BWE and also after release and i havent seen any patchnotes stating it has changed.

Yes they would appear as same and also conversed to the same boon. This i tested last week and the boonconversion is bugged, the conversiontables doesnt apply.

The issue is that the conversion is the thing thats bugged imo, the conditionremoval is fine.

After some previous testing, I’ve noticed that certain boons do not stack when gaining the effect from Pure of Voice. For example, Hold the Line! gives the regeneration boon, but removing poison does not stack the regeneration boon. However, the protection boon did stack. I’m not sure what the conditions are, but I’ve always removed the conditions. Converting is the main issue. As for Save Yourselves!, you should still remove two conditions, but those two conditions must have previously been on the Guardian. It will not give your allies’ conditions to you and then remove two.

The condition removal is totally random, it may or may not cure it, and it will never give you the boon back with save yourselves or hold the line, I have used these 2 shouts since beta and they always behaved the same way, they are NOT reliable in any way with pure of voice.

I have used it extensively and i find the boon conversion to be messed up.

-Sometime you get a boon
-Sometime you get the wrong conversion of it
-Sometime you dont get it at all.

But i also tested this since beta and frankly i havent seen it fail to remove a condition once, in a controlled environment, aka pve. The reason i havent tried it in wvw or tpvp is that its very easy to get the conditions reapplied and mistake it for PoV not removing the condition.

It really doesnt matter, its bugged and should be fixed, its one hell of a support tool when it works.

EDIT:

Tested in Orr again and Retreat, SyG and SY remove conditions with PoV on self and on ally. We tested with bleeds on a boss and it worked. When using SY no condition was transfered to the guardian, we only tested with one condition on the ally.

Well i had them in the cast bar and used them just to check again.

Yes i know the intended conversion of conditions, my point was that condition removing with SY worked everytime BUT i dont get a conversion on my ally or a longer boon of one of the boons SY gives me.

I have had 0 issues with condi removal, it works 100% of the time for me, what i have issues with is the conversion of conditions.

As i posted above sometimes i get the wrong boon, sometimes no boon at all and sometimes the correct one but conditions is always removed..

I have started to think this bug might be character related or gear related. We seem to get very different results when we test it.

mmm i just wish ANet would fix this already so it’s working as intended. or, do a quickfix for the tool-tip so people who haven’t extensively tested this or frequent forums get confused. it’s one helluva trait and i still use it though. but it is a gandmaster trait after all and sad to see it still bugged for so long.
