[Suggestion] Give tomes inherent stability
My suggestion is to give tome of knowledge and tome of courage inherent stability without requiring a trait for it.
Tome of Knowledge? You might want to edit this. ^-^

Thanks. I’ve been getting some many of those tomes it stuck in my head.
I’m going to file this under “Things that have been proposed since beta and occasionally come up again.”
Didn’t Tome of Courage have stability in early stages of the game?

Yes, they removed it and replaced it with retaliation on Wrath and protection on Courage. Still never understood why they made this change, it wasn’t overperforming. Now you have to take a trait just to make tomes viable.
Heavens Rage
Consider this a yes vote from my side of the fence. I can’t say I’m fully “dedicated” to the class like many of you, but that is a sensible change.
Other 80s: Any but Warrior
Tomes should never have been a transformation skill.
Tomes should have been just like ele Conjure weapons(conjures a book), except that you only get 1 copy in your hand(and no copies on the ground for friends to pick). You can keep the 180 recharge, Conjure Fiery Greatsword has as much and more.
Meaning:
1. You dont lose the ability to activate your utility skills
2. You dont lose the ability to activate your virtues
3. You keep the benefit of passive signets
4. You keep the benefit of passive virtues
only skills 1-5 get replaced on your bar, just like any Conjure weapons.
Right now, entering a tome means instant death if your opponents have conditions, because you have 0 ways of cleansing them(no, #2 of tome of courage does not work that way).
If stability gets made the norm on tomes, I think the Elite Focus trait should reduce cooldown on tomes. Just making tomes 50% longer isn’t good enough for a master trait, imo.

Entering a tome shouldn’t make you invincible (even though ToC nearly does just that, if you’re not focusing your healing on allies), and ToC #2 does cleanse conditions on the user (and quite a lot of conditions if it bounces to the user twice).
As for Tome of Wrath, it’s a long-ranged skill for a reason (same kind of goes for ToC). Although, I wouldn’t mind utility skills being made available in those forms in exchange for less total health/armor gained in each of the tomes.

It should make you nearly invincible for the duration if the damage you are putting out is nonexistent :p

If you’re referring to Tome of Courage; damage isn’t everything. Even though that’s essentially the case in PvE, it isn’t the case in other game modes (especially PvP).
If you’re referring to Tome of Wrath, then its damage should be buffed (not that it deals a bad amount of damage, it’s just not Lich Form), it shouldn’t be made pseudo-invincible.

Second this ^.
It would also be nice if they reduced the burning on tome of wrath & upped the direct damage by a good chunk or at least bring back it’s + 50% critical chance.
As is there is allot of ways to apply burning in the game & most other classes have allot more reasons to use + condition damage then us.
The only spec I can see getting any decent use from the burning is carrion PvP builds and they don’t need it because they already can keep burning up (allot of the time).
All that being said if this is done permanent protection might be a bit much for TOC to grant the user. What if instead it granted + toughness, vitality & Healing power while active.
TOW could then be changed to grant + power, condition damage & critical chance while active instead of retaliation.

It should be obvious that an elite skill should not require a 4 point investment just to be useful and at the cost of sacrificing so much.
for there you have been and there you will long to return.
