Trying the Guardian
Those are pretty boring weapons. I find pretty much every weapon style more fun than those.

try greatsword + mace and focus. The GS gives you offense, mace and focus defense on the other set.
With a group you can use skill five to pull in 5 mobs, spin them to death, then switch to mace and skill 3 block counter and pop shield. Massive AoE and in the earlier levels, everything dies by the time you get to the mace counter. Also, focus 4 gives you healing and a multi-mob blind (bounces 4 times, heals allies, blinds enemies and does damage).
Later on there are nice infinite might builds that give you might on crit, there are support oriented builds, self survival builds that heal you whenever you get a boon on allies…there are a lot of build options for Guardian, it’s a good class.
Try infinite might build+4 major runes of the pack. Guaranteed to give you silly amounts of might
This will then free up the need to spec for dmg so you can be a super tanker guardian that does good damage lol

Plus, that might is given as a boon to allies near you as well, boosting your entire group’s DPS, and even healing you for each boon if you spec for it.
IMO our ranged options are rather boring if you actually try to use them for anything other than support skill’s. Granted i’ve yet to use the scepter as its just not my play style.
That being said alot of guardian skill’s are not use on cooldown skill’s. If thats your play style then im thinking guardian wont be for you. Guardian for me is more of a wait it out kinda play style. Im always watching my party members and my own buffs and conditions while also watching mobs so i can time my counters to help mitigate damage done to my party. Not sure about other guardian’s thoughts on this but thats my feelings.
Sorry for the late reply but i wasn’t at home in these couple a days. Thanks for the help i’ve started my human guardian (almost went Norn) gonna try that build but before i want to have a taste as a mage guardian..Let’s see in the future if i change to a meele guardian or remain as a mage one

If you don’t like the GS build try AH Crithammer. It’s ridiculously strong/tough.

Empowering Might in the honor tree. With 30% crit you’ll always have might. With 45-50% crit you’ll never have less than 4-5 stacks of might, and I say this as a hammer user. I’ve gotten 8-12 stacks with a sword and 48% crit. You can also throw on a sigil of battle to get 2 (or 3 for superior) stacks of might for 20 secs on weapon swap.
It synergizes well if you go at least 20 in honor and 30 in valor, because you’ll also get might on blocks from the valor tree and Altruistic Healing for 30 in valor gives you heals whenever you boon allies (including yourself). I’ve used it to survive solo in Orr, and can even take down a veteran in Southsun cove so long as I can pull it away from adds and fight it alone. If you have 5 in virtues, every virtue you pop heals you too, and renewed focus will let you blow those and then get them right back as passives.

I go with 30/30 because I like the power boost from low endurance and the extra healing from symbols. With the crit and 5 point vigor, It refills so fast I’m comfortable dodging often instead of saving it just for emergencies. Plus, dodging repeatedly heals me too (and selfless daring benefits 100% 1:1 ratio from healing power, making it a very useful tool in your arsenal).

what these guys said. : ))) i run a similar build as well and might is definitely all ove rthe place. you play off your crits, which boon you (and allies), heal you, and sustained high damage with high enough crit.
this makes you extremely survivable, in a sense, keeps you always on the move, and dish out good dmg. very, very fun.
