hybrid builds compilation
for wvw the problem start with condi guard against certain build variant who uses lemongrass and hoelbrak which gives them -60% condi duration
which means 1 sec burning will never proc on them thus you must invest to get 1.66 sec burning duration for at least 1 sec of burning will apply from block and voj passive
so for roaming it may work as not all build for roaming build around condi duration but in group fight most of the melee trait will use it for sure
here is a build i am using which give both good power and condi dmg
2k power
1.6k condi dmg
with guard stacks its 100 more for both
200% burning duration
18k hp 2.5k with guard stacks
if use blind rotation right you will get 52% more dmg with direct dmg (so no much need in crit chance)
have fun
i know some ppl like krait runes as they give 3 conditions ability with elite skill
as i sees it as unnecessary as you got poison and 3 bleed from sigil so torment alone as cover condition or dmg wont give you much as 3 bleed > 1 bleed+torment
also you dont use elite to do dmg rather to protect yourself and krait has bleeding duration which is useless ability so balthazar or flame legion is much better

Situational, at best. That’s my problem with the burn hyrbid guardian hype.
There are too many different guardian condition hybrid builds for different objectives. I can’t switch these builds every time I run into a player to fit my needs. Every thread I have seen praising the condition hybrid or condition guardian all fail to provide a solution. It’s always, “this hybrid build is great for 1v3s, this condition build is great if they have lots of cleanse, use this one if in a group fight!”
What if we want a build that works overall? What if we want absolute resolution in case we run into a PU Mesmer or PD Thief but we still want to keep heavy damage? I can’t see hybrid condition builds for guardian working well in that regards, simply because you’re trying to fit too many features into a class that can’t handle it. And yeah, you might find success against certain classes or bad players, but how does a single build work as a whole? How does it do in team fights, 1v1s, and against every build their is out there? How does it perform overall? Meditation Zerk excels in this because it’s trait distribution allows for much more. Burn hyrbid, not so much. It’s too spread out and all over the place. You’d have to tailor it for certain situations, and if you’re fine doing that, then fantastic, but for those of us who want a build that excels overall, burn hybrid isn’t for us. If Amplified Wrath wasn’t a grandmaster trait then the build would be much more viable.
Not directed at OP or anything, I realize this is just a composition of builds. I am merely expressing my opinion on the Hybrid – Burn hype.

ok i see you point
you want overall build which can fit in any situation
lets talk about zerkmed first little bit
can it take p/d, d/p, s/d – 25-50% yes but thief with blind spamming or condi dmg or perma evade can kite him
d/d ele 50% depends on player expertize as ele d/d have good health and burst rotation faster then the medguard
power necro or condi also can take him down 50% with fear ad ds which absorb dmg
so 1v1 yes med zerk is good build
1v2 can perform good but it cant pressure the area
small group fight yes its good if you target 1 player
pvp also good but cant hold point
hybrid build now..
each build above can kill golem in 8-10 sec as medzerk so the dmg is the same
hybrid builds can do better aoe dmg and the burning ignore blocking/evade/dodge/blind all of which are direct dmg negator
so overall your dps is higher even if you play defensive your conditions will do the work for you
so far each 1v1 i had i won in 80% average
d/d ele cant sustain the burning after they use water
all thief builds just melted
ranger condi or power the same with the blocks
condi necro and condi engi can be problem (in pvp on point) but doable
so 1v1 very strong build which proc nice direct dmg and condi pressure at the same time
1v2 hard for guardian but your defenses like block will do lots of dmg to them so just playing defensive can put enemy to 10% hp
hold a point – doable as aoe burning can control the area along with symbole
pf bring aoe cleanse and might and fire aura to your team
so i think the hybrid guard is the perfect overall builds which can excels in any situation as medzerk are more for 1v1

When it comes to 1v1 burn guards excel over medi zerks hands down. This has already been proven time and time again. I’ve witnessed it first hand, watching what zerk meds can and can’t beat in koth while condi rekts most ele’s, condi ranger, pu mesmers/phanta can be more difficult but still beatable, etc. There’s very little argument when it comes to node defend and 1v1.
I like using 20606 hybrid. It does just enough to 1v1 and just enough to make a huge difference in zergs. Call it personal preference. In the end the player and team comp makes it viable, not the build

some 1v1 in group fight with 6,2,6,0,0, and 2,6,6,0,0 builds
i tried to do 20 vulnerability stack and failed as it got cleansed
In WvW you get so many different bonuses affecting your burning and you can tweak the build easily, so I’ve been roaming with this now,:
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fVAQRArf5dlsApaoNDxcI8DNR8QZVHUdAkAP61/wMkDA-TViAABJcCBIc/B80fApSQAeSAmq+TYKVQTZ1GHEgAAIAMzZOzZOzZWKAYmDA-w (the Rabid stuff is actually Sinister ingame)
It’s basically almost full Celestial with minor tweaks.
So the basic thing was that I just can’t roam without the +25 movement boost Travelers give me, hence the runes. I wanted to have enough power so it pressures the enemy and so much Ferocity my critical hits matter (love critting with Torch #4 and Mace #3) yet having toughness so I’m not too easy to burst down while being able to pressure the enemy with a burning tic that forces them to acknowledge it if they don’t want to die.
I would never call me a good player, but I can say the pressure you apply on them with the burning really feels like it makes a huge difference – maybe everyone I met are just bad players used to ignore burning from guards and just avoid powerbased attacks? Who knows, but with the Scepter and Torch you are able to keep pressure on them when they try kiting, and when they move in to melee burst you, you can quickly swap to Mace and Focus, punishing them with both Mace #3 and the burning each block causes
Anyways, I have been thinking of moving points away from Radiance completely for having 1 in both Honor and Virtues. It would mean losing 100 condition damage, though.
I’m unsure of having Smoldering sigils, would want Doom sigils on both weapons, but I guess the duration would drop too much
