People want the traps changed because the way they’re designed makes them very ineffective. Nobody likes anticipating something new only to be disappointed by receiving something that isn’t going to be used anyway.

Well, you can still just set them in melee, and you’ll have the same problem. If they really wanted them to make them like real traps, they would’ve increased the setting time. The real issue here is that these are intended to be utilities for a ranged elite specialization. Either this specialization shouldn’t have gotten a longbow, or it shouldn’t have gotten (melee) traps. I’d say the former, because the new virtues clearly don’t fit a ranged specialization. Unfortunately the devs were obsessed with making it a ranger wannabe, so they gave it both with not much derivation from what a ranger has.

Traps in PvE are no issue. Mobs are stupid. Traps in PvP? Well that forces you to think abit but seeing as 90% of gameplay revolved around taking points you should be able to get people with them there too. Im not seeing the problem*

But then the other classes who use traps would want the same thing. In return classes with wells would be like …really?!?!<
The fix isn’t really simple. Though I wish it were. DH was my obsession until current beta. I want it to be fun to play so badly.
I think the solution to this issue..is that none of you want to use traps. Because you obviously want wells.
Besides the damage buff traps also need something defensive or there will be no reason to take them over meditations which are instant, provide as good or better damage and heal you.

Despite the fact that u can trick people into walking into 4 traps at once. and with wells you can only cast them one at a time and they get blocked and dodged. Oh ok. Guess that makes sense

Wells can be placed immediately wherever they are needed (within range, obviously) because they are ground targeted.
Wells have a much shorter cast/activation time.
Wells are triggered on the terms of the player casting it and are not dependent on the enemy making a misstep.
Wells typically have a wider radius and last longer.
Wells cannot be preemptively dodged by someone who knows where it is ahead of time to neutralize the entire threat.
I could go on and on about how traps completely counteract this game’s combat design and mechanics, but I think that should be enough to at least get the picture.
I will use concentrations. What im saying is traps suck and make no sense on this class and they should be wells since they are magic based anyways would make way more sense seeing as we cannot kite.
As it stands now why would I give up shouts or meditations for lol traps hell spirit weapons as bad as they are would be more useful in pvp at least. That and the longbow skill three is a freaking joke it should be some sort of cc not my arrow blocks your arrow and the ground target for it is awful bad should just be a button push and a large wall. Wells would be better with longbow don’t know how many other ways I can explain or say it gaurdian has enough useless skills as it is we don’t need more. I’ve played literally nothing but gaurdian since beta and I know what works and dh is inferior and worthless as it stands now. Or idk call them magic traps and give me a 500 casting range to summon them would make more sense.
