80 on my Mesmer looking for a build(PvE).
I wrote up my thoughts on the current options here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/mesmer/Mantras-PvE/first#post3913493 It’s likely that the experts will give us some more researched/qualified opinions soon as well.
Things are still basically in flux, but some things never change. Berserker armor + trinkets is the way to go, and sword mainhand + two offhands is the way to go (offhand sword almost always, focus/pistol for the other one). Phantasm builds are still best. I’m happy to answer questions/offer more advice if you have any after reading the other thread~
Yeah, what you’ve got there is pretty accurate. The only question that remains is whether or not phantasmal haste is a higher damage boost than the 5 point minor in inspiration that gives 15%. I suspect that it’s mostly going to be a toss-up.

If the math of OP in this thread is correct, the average dmg increase with PH is about 13.5% while the traits give 15%

Would you recommend me selling my GS to buy exotic sword’s and such? Also what would be your recommended trait build the typical slot skills I should use? I’ll need to get used to using mantras more :O Thanks!

If you soulbound your GS, you won’t be able to sell it. Anyway, it’s a great weapon to have for open world and WvW, so I wouldn’t get rid of it. Try to save up for some rare swords, and then run a few paths of AC, and before long you’ll have enough money for exotics.
For utilities, it depends a lot on the situation.
If you’re running a Mantra build (anything with 6/x), you obviously want Mantras— Recovery for the heal, Resolve and Concentration and Daze for the others, depending on if you need condition cleanse/stun breakers/daze+vuln. The fourth is almost always feedback, which is such a great skill, but can be Null Field or something if you don’t need reflections. In some situations, you sacrifice one of the mantras and its DPS and swap to something like blink if you need it.
For the 2/x builds, it really doesn’t matter too much. Signet of Inspiration is a nice boost to DPS if someone in your party is stacking might (you can use it to double people’s might stacks). Blink might be useful for mobility, depending on the battle. Mantra of Resolve is probably still your best condition cleanse, and is great to have. Null Field is great for boon stripping/ condition cleanse, as is Phantasmal Disenchanter. Portal is useful in some places (CoF p1 boulder skip). You have a lot of great options, but you can also swap one of these into the Mantra builds if necessary as well.

One final question, what would these 6/x and 2/x builds look like? major traits and all.

Generally melee dmg is a lot higher than ranged. If you want to just do open world content tho it is nice to spawn a phantasmal berserker and then immediately switch to sword for trashmobs.
In dungeons it is better to use s/s and s/p for singletarget dmg or s/f for reflection, swiftness and AoE phantasm dmg and use your gs only in times where you can’t do anything but range.
In domination “Empowering Illusions” is a good thing to have.
For dueling there is “phantasmal fury” which is a nice boost for phantasm dps, “Blade training” because you will use sword 99% of the time, “deceptive evasion” for shatter on trashmobs and keeping up 3 clones and duelists discipline if youre using pistol.
In Inspiration there is “Glamour Mastery” which is nice if you don’t use mantras, “Mender’s purity” for additional condi removal (generally not needed) and “Warden’s Feedback” for 100% reflection uptime with your focus.
In Illusions I recommend “Compounding Power” for a straight dmg boost.
Mantra Build Harmonious Mantras and Empowering Mantras switched places, which isn’t updated yet so instead of harmonious mantras like showed in the calc use empowering. The empty slots can be filled to your liking/situation. Also has the highest reflect dmg
Phantasm Build
Focus on boosting your phantasms. Also has the highest reflect uptime

Sure thing— I wrote that out here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/mesmer/Mantras-PvE/first#post3913481

Thank you so much!
TBH, in soloQ I’d rate traditional shatter as one of the stronger mesmer builds post patch. The burst if anything is slightly better due to the sigil changes. Besides there’s tonnes of PvE nubs in zerker gear who have no clue what they are doing who you’ll eat alive.

wat
What sigils should I be using on my equips and weapons?
What sigils should I be using on my equips and weapons?
I’m not 100% sure yet. I’d wait till more people do tests before investing here.
In pugs/unorganized groups, it looks like Sigil of Battle with Runes of Strength is a good choice, since you can quickly stack a lot of might just swapping your off hands with this.
In organized groups which stack might for you, I’m getting the best choice is Force + Night for nighttime dungeons, and Force + Accuracy for daytime dungeons. But this is still open for debate. Scholar runes would be my guess for best runes for this situation as well.

So I’ve switched to the mantra build and I’m loving how high my dps is now. I was wondering if you have a few tips on what my skill order should typically be now with sword sword and sword pistol (I’m assuming its summon both my phantasms then just 1 with the occasional 2). Also when should I be using my daze mantra?
