Was recording some video while testing scavenger runes. Recorded a couple of fights that had decent opening bursts, so put them together with an old Cars song.

At the end of the video, I replayed one of the opening bursts in slow motion. I’m curious what combinations people use with condi builds as their openers – this is pretty aggressive, but very fun. Would love to hear what other folks do – thx!

im more shocked that scepter/torch and scepter/shield works so well, lol.

I’ve played your exact build with the likely exception of gear/stat differences.

I use a combination of sinister/celestial/viper because of scepter 3’s high power scaling. I don’t attempt to condi burst people as often, so instead I use torment runes with vulnerability sigil (as a cover condi) to maximize the pressure from my auto’s.

Also, given the aoe-fest that is large-scale wvw combat, I opted to take the slow-related traits, rather than IR/Chronophantasma for chronomancers.

Using this chronomancer-slow/hybrid power variant, I like to build up my stacks of LostTime before initiating a burst. Thus, I take advantage of scepter 3’s high power damage with the added slow crit chance to maximize burst.

Neat! I used to use scepter in power phantasm build.

I like the concept of starting off a battle with a burst, but the pure condi builds are tricky to get an early spike in damage.
