Echo of Memory: The recharge of this skill will now begin when Time Echo’s effect ends.
These are the changes that make me mad, really… Changes that are 100% based on PvP and affect PvE so hard.
It’s gonna be a lot harder to tank VG now, I’ll tell ya. Especially since they also nerfed Persistence of Memory.
I’ll also change my rota to start with CS with Echo of Memeory instead of TW, since it would take around 30s to get 3 shields now.
What I want to say here:
Please ANet! If you want to make this game perfect for ALL GAME MODES, split them already!

still the same ol’ Anet, glad I quit this game months ago. I applaud rest of you Mesmers that sticking with the game for long, you guys surely are faithful.

They even nerfed the garbage shouts from tempests in PvE as well. Who the hell thought Flash Freeze and Feel The Burn were overtuned in PvE?
Same goes for ranger smokescale. Like mesmer, rangers are the other lowest DPS class, and they nerf their only good DPS pet, it’s a joke.

What I’m really curious about is do games actually have the means to separate pvp and pve stuff on a large scale unless it was done at launch like a advertised part of the game?

There’s a few effects that are already split such as the duration of Revealed and the way pets/summons/minions/illusions handle damage. Since these measures are already in place, refusing to split skills and traits is just plain laziness or neglect.

World of Warcraft and FFXIV have completely separate PvE/PvP balancing.
Guild Wars 1 was the original game to do the PvE/PvP split, but most of the GW1 team has moved on so what remains with the GW2’s direction is more PvP focused garbage.
On a game that largely monetizes off PvE players.

I still dunno how it feels with this change, but Anet goes all-in when nerfing mesmers.
Not only PoM got a 50% nerf but shield block got its raw CD increased up to 10s. Oh, and btw, PoM and alacrity wont have any effect in that time window.
I wonder if/when they decide to buff sword auto, they will increase its coeficient to 0.8 AND increase it attackspeed chain by ~30% (via casts and aftercasts) like thief sword right?…
It means more sustained dmg and also boon stripping more often. The Dream.
But fear not all pvers out there. Wanna tank? Bring your thief, change 1 trait and press #1. Top tier dps and ease of tanking right there.

What I love about changes like these is the fact that they want to nerf a certain type of mesmer build, but they straight out nerf several if not almost all current viable builds (core mesmer included). Everything that was nerfed today was pretty useful on a power mesmer or support oriented mesmer too, but just because it’s used on condition mesmer in “eSports” it gets nerfed, same as they did with alacrity during the bunker mesmer times. I wish the changes introduced to classes would be more specific and thought through (build diversity hint hint). To be fair it’s not that this patch will change my playstyle by a lot if at all, but it’s yet again the lazy way out and power mesmer becomes even worse, again. So here’s an idea for something useful for the next patch (because you seem to have a hard time coming up with something) that won’t even break the non-existent balance, how about you finally remove the aftercast from gs auto attack so it won’t be such a hassle to get a slight damage increase by stowing the weapon constantly, thanks ….

People have weird reasons to play games. Why would I play a video game out of faith? I just play them because they’re fun entertainment.
Granted, not playing sPvP at all helps a lot to make GW2 enjoyable, the only few times I didn’t like the game were when I dabbled with that mode. Terrible stuff, no clue why someone thinks it fits into a MMORPG.
