Go VOTE MESMER on CDI Thread - Now!
Yeah same here … the bugged weapon skills are a real pain ( I’m especially looking at you iLeap)
Also as far as I know in the current spvp meta absolutely no one from 80 people used a mesmer in the last Tourney.

Well, the poll is closed and mesmer has ended in the 5th place.
Order is: Ranger – Elementalist – Engineer – Necro – Mesmer – Thief – Warrior – Guardian
Apart from warriors, guards and thiefs, all other 5 classes need big redesigns. But I’d say ranger and eles have the most issiues. Necros, engies and mesmers suffer from tons of bugs and a bit lack of build and role diversity.
Would love mesmer were the third class, but we are seen as a very strong class in pve and OP in roaming, thats why there’s no love for us from the players.

Guard makes sense as the last one listed. Fact is, I’ve considered them to be the most properly-balanced class in game for months. They have definitive strengths and weaknesses, and reasonable synergy for Traits and Skills.
As for Mesmer and Thief. The fact that either class excels in head-screw and sneaky murder effectively makes most non Mes/Thief players hate both classes, tbh. Although, at least they like Mes more than Thief …
Other 80s: Any but Warrior
Yeah, it’s a close call for 3rd place between engi, necro and mesmer.
It makes sense that thief is after those three in 6th place, with warrior and guardian at the bottom.
I think it ended up reasonably accurate.
As much as I’d love mesmer to be the focus, I can’t in good conscience put it above ranger or ele at the moment.
Here, drink this water, then go to the cdi thread again.

May I have some?
BTW, I played my lv 30ish ranger a bit the other day and I felt quite sorry for them.
Eles? I think most of Ele problems are L2P issues.

Yes, I have 5 lv 80 mesmers – Funny Puns
What is the problem with elementalists exactly? I have only played one a little, so I’m not really sure what the problem is with the class. Engineer seems like a fair choice, their base weapons are just… kinda boring and they seem to rely on kits a lot. I feel like they may also be lacking some trait synergy but I’m probably just noob at engineer.

If they don’t build full glass cannon, they’re completely ignorable and do nothing. When building full glass cannon, they can do good burst damage, but they’re incredibly fragile, and any decent thief will eat them, thus forcing them out of the meta. Similar problem with mesmers, but not quite as bad.
Another problem with Elementalists is conceptual. They are the only ones bringing air fields, a rather important field in WvW, and also one of the major sources of swiftness and Might for groups.
Most players want to feel slightly less buff bot, while everyone else wants to feel slightly less dependent on them.
And what’s wrong with necromancer?
Wellmancer, MMBunker, Condimancer and some Fearbuilds seem to work. They are always welcome in wvw and s/tpvp.
When I tried it in wvw or openworld pve it was the lootgod.
It’s a little boring, but is that the problem?

No, their main problem is the lack of roles. They can only do DPS, and in pve it is weak, cause of the conditions limitation. Also, they have a lot of bugs, like us. Death Shroud, minions and trait causes them a lot of problems. And finally they have no access to vigor, neither to stability.

Necromancer’s problem is that their two main specializations – attrition and boon/condition control – are never challenged at all in PvE. In theory they’d be fine! If PvE was any different, that is.
