Illusionary Counter dev`s pl just one thing
and while you are at it, how about making it more useful in wvw. 1 block, that fails often when hit by another target and then 1 target gets hit by it….not good enough for wvw. I play a lot and since the patch i’ve barely seen it applied
but anet seems to balance everything around spvp and wvw is the one that really suffers with it. give us our REAL conditions back and separate wvw from spvp already, they are not the same!
yes, i want confusion buffed again and now that it’s fixed with the script and the bb nerf, time to bring it back.
i don’t like dps builds, i like conditions and cc and like to be able to interrupt, slow down and confuse zergs in wvw…err isn’t that what the mesmer was supposed to be like?

Hmm idk op as it is right now illu counter works well against theif. You dont need to target them but it will auto hit them when they go for there back stab regardless if you targeting another enemy. I think the dmg reduction(50%) to illu counter wash a bit much, how about if you are bit more of a power/crit build? Torment will do like no dmg. I know most people dont think scepter works on power/crit type builds but it does. Just check out seven mirrors vids if you dont believe me

While I’d rather just CC the thief, landing a block verse a stealth thief is very effective. Land the block, blow mirror images and F1, and you’re done. A roasted thief will appear perfectly cooked out of thin air.

vincecontix 1v1 vs a thief(and a warrior) is probably the most reliable way we have to apply the torment (tho only if the thief isn`t competent enough to dodge it which is extremely easy with the long delay this skill have)
but vs a mesmer/ranger/engineer(with turrets out)/necro and hell even ele`s with staff glyph build.,its so random its crazy you need to be in the enemy model to land it with any ai out this is just for 1v1.
in team fights or 2v1 Xv1 when you want to use it ,its even worse,all the aoe ppl and ai hitting you randomly you just lose it for no good reason.
its a good burst for condition builds just need to make it more reliable.
how about revert illu counters dmg back to what it was originally and have every 3rd scepter auto attack apply1- 2 stacks of torment for 2-4sec. This way scepter would be useful to a variety of different build and it would make for a much more reliable way to apply torment.

scepter 2 is not the problem imo. the skill does sick damage (biggest torment stack with highest duration on lowest cd in game).
it is the scepter itself that sucks. you don’t have sustained damage. if they evade 2 and mitigate 3 tickling them is the agenda for the next 9 sec.
as long as scepter does not apply a damaging condition on it’s autoattack it will suck. plain and simple.
