Mesmer class, what are we now?
The concern of the Mesmer community is that we now have to aim for the shins while another ranged can aim at our shoulders.
… It’s terribly inconvenient.
Oh I don’t disagree, I was trying to just give a work around or at least a mindset that will help. I’m still trying to figure out where the LOS line is drawn from. I think it’s different per ability, but don’t quote me on that. For one, being different per ability doesn’t make sense. That would be a ton of work and extremely buggy. However, I know where one ability might say obstructed another will work just fine without me moving.
To start off, I run GS+s/f. For the LoS issue, it doesn’t bother me much as a non-spvp casual-ish player. I just use GS #1 as a ‘laser marker’. If it hits i can summon the phantasm, if not, I just move around. However, it have gotten impossible to hit siege equip on top of castle now, so I’m forced to just scout around during sieges to stop/scout enemy support, supply run, and pull a few tarts off the wall.
However, in pve and wvw, the invulnerable, blind, dodge, and block change has affected me a lot more. Especially during the karka event! omg those crabs and their dodges!! I’m sure the nerfs were intentionally timed lol~
As for wvw, I have focus, so I still have good amount of options to catch runners with GS2+f3, focus #4,3, and GS4.
But I’ll agree the nerfs were quite hard. Why don’t they make these nerfs less of a ‘giant bomb package’ (which nerfed mesmers that relies on phantasms[dmg&supp] this patch), and more of a ‘series of small jabs’ with small notes on what direction they’re going with the changes? Being left in the complete dark puts me in the ’they’re throwing random solutions’ mind-set. Plus I think they’re having too many large events in a short period of time, and should increase the bug-fixes, with little more feedback. My pack of 2 cents.
The Karka event was even more fun below level 80 when you didn’t have deceptive evasion yet.
