ok test results

1. condi shatter – chrono/duel/illus – trait which give clone and phatasm when you shatter and DE
a. with almost perma 3 clonse up the dmg is insane – maybe now fits more the nerf on torment.
b. shield block is nice and if i block i wont shatter to put bit slow on my enemy. the daze is nice also and try to use it with staff/sword leap for combo.
c. well – well of action very nice indeed on point
d. slow is another condi to cover

short sum up – very good build of offence conditions with no chaos line so no stability and protection

2. powerblock – dom/deul/chrono
a. powerful with 2 izerk up
b. shield can do 5k dmg if interrupt and the slow with the block add to the chance of it
c. hard to notice you with all the clones around

again offence with no inspi trait line. i took inspi and it works well too

3. bunker – insp/chaos/chrono – soldier amulet – 1v2 versus zerk mes and revenant. kill them both after 2 min of fight without even trying. the block ability and the idefense and 9% less dmg with 3 illusion up all the time. regarding support boon share with signet only (unless dont take idefense) and 3 wells which cleanse 2 condi. healing , action and gravity.

nice trick to use in condi and power build with chornophantasma trait.
take signet of ether put your izerk up use the heal and use it again than shatter and 2 pops up again => huge burst
with shield you can block 4 times with it

F5 – didnt use it much on my duels and team fights as i need more time to get used to it

Some technical questions I’d like answered:

  • Does alacrity grant 2s recharge per 3s duration, or 1s recharge per 3s duration?
  • Does Lost Time gain a charge for each enemy hit by an aoe crit?
  • Does Lost Time apply slow to each enemy hit if the proc attack is AoE?
  • Can phantasms apply Lost Time? (unlikely)
  • Does Chronophantasma resummon when the original phantasm actually shatters, or when you cast the shatter?
  • What is iCap’s attack timing?
  • Does iCap’s Alacrity stack?
  • What duration quickness does boonshare give from full Seize the Moment procs?
  • All the usual questions about Continuum Shift
  • Also, if the proc attack for Lost Time is a crit, does it add a charge?
  • Does each tick of Spatial Surge count separately for Lost Time charges?

Answers:

  • Alacrity does give 2s recharge per 3s.
  • Phantasms do not apply lost time, or accumulate charges.
  • Lost Time can add charges for multi-hit attacks. Hitting 5 targets with one attack and critting on each applies slow instantly.
  • If the proc attack for Lost Time is a crit, it adds a charge. That means the rotation for Lost time is 5 attacks if you crit on every attack.
  • Each tick of Spatial Surge counts separately for Lost Time charges. That makes greatsword the #1 AA producer of Slow.
  • Multi-hit attacks do not apply slow to each target.

I’m looking forward to playing condi shatter with DE, IR and Cp and I’m glad to hear it remedies the MtD Nerf.

Edit: In fact that has finally set my mind at ease regarding MtD given how livid I was with the nerf. Now I know I will be always playing condition shatter with Chrono in the future. Ah it’s lovely to think about.

Hey Chaos, just let you know I got done testing a couple of burst shatter builds. Found out that Dom/Duel/Chron does more damage than Dom/Duel/Illusions (and obviously PU shatter as well). The extra attack from izerker seems to beat out Compounding Power with Master of fragmentation. I was not surprised at all that this build was good, its beastly. Ran Time Catches Up over Delayed Reactions as I feel like the later is more for lockdown builds. I also ran Illusionary Reversion and Chronophantasma. The chronophantasma is what causes this build to do more damage than other bust shatter builds. However these two traits synergize very well, especially with continuum shift, for excellent illusion production.

I also tested Dom/Illusions/Chrono to see how far I could get cool downs. In illusions I ran Persistance of memory, maim the disillusioned, and master of fragmentation. In domination I used imagined burden. Chronomancer traits were the same as the previous build. I found that alacrity, imagined burden, illusionist Celerity, and Master of Misdirection synergized very well. The more you shatter, the faster your cool downs, the more you can shatter, etc. Found that you could take out the indestructible golem in heart of the mists faster that other videos I have found on youtube or posted. The cool down is insane. However, the problem with this build is that it seams to lack the defensive setup Dom/Duel/Chron offers. In order to get the most out of alacrity and all the traits mentioned, it seams you have to stay with great sword because if you weapon swap you have to deal with the swapping cool down. However, if you don’t swap, you don’t have a defensive skill like the prestige when you need it. In the end, doing damage on a golem is not the same as actual pvp matches. I would also like to point out that it could take out the indestructible golem faster. However, Dom/Duel/Chron could take out the other golems quicker. Might seem weird, but the illusion line is more for sustained damage using mind wrack. Therefore, I could see it used as a shatter build for something like pve roaming or in the maguuma jungle. However, I don’t think it will be meta or anything for pvp. You could try improved alacrity over illusionary reversion if you wanted to. However, I don’t think thats gona solve the problem.

I conclusion, I think Dom/Duel/Chron is prob going to be meta. This offers a lot more damage and utility options than PU shatter (especially with continuum shift). I think people new to the profession will find PU easier. However, I can definitely without a doubt see Dom/Duel/Chron taking over for experienced mesmers in the burst shatter department.

iZerker hits for a lot, so I’m not surprised this turned out to be good, either. IMO, the 1s Daze should be enough counter-play for enemies to dodge the Zerk, but apparently dodging a bunch of clones running at your face is too hard for most players, so IDK.

I think with the build i was running with mesmers, I felt comfortable. the main problem i had was with Continuum Split, i don’t know if it was bugged though i was saying 240, but it should be a lot bigger maybe 1200 to 1500, don’t know the range of that really and maybe, this just came to me you show the radius of the area with a line visible to the mesmer play, i do think that the 240 range is to small because i would say most attacks hit in that radius so it is kinda pointless to have it so small
