I stopped playing GW2 because of continuous nerf of what I think is the better class/profession I have played in an MMO. Now that they buff us an unusable weapon that is the scepter, please left us enjoy it a little. Next to buff is the phantam torch please.

Trolls, go home to complain in another place.

Scepter AA needed a buff, but a condition on Ether Bolt was not it. Ether Blast’s change is fine, and I’d even suggest boosting that duration further.

they buff shatter, sure, awesome ,amazing, thank you, gg skillful actively play, #esport.

Any buff that is related to PU phantasm build should not be considered.
this spec is just cancer and should not be in the PvP meta at all. if that ever happens.

I agree, Mesmers are certainly unique, which is part of the reason why i like them so much. And yes, Mesmers have been nerfed time and time again, most often in a undeserved way.

Now that they buff us an unusable weapon that is the scepter, please left us enjoy it a little.

Scepter is in no way an “unusable” weapon. It’s next to useless for Power-based-builds, but actually quite good for Condition-Based ones. It got a defensive Block (Illusionary Counter) on a low Cooldown giving 5 Units of Torment uppon triggering, whereas Confusing Images is useful in Confusion application and following the movement of stealthed foes through channeling, even if just in a limited way. The only thing not particulary useful was the Autoattack, and it’s still enough of a good weapon to be used by tons of passive-play-PU Condimesmers all over the Guild-Wars-World…

Next to buff is the phantam torch please.

Yes, that would be nice. But then please not in yet another condition-boosting way. They could also change Torch #4 to make it a bit more powerful Powerwise (it’s kittening exploding, common! there has to be some more Powerdamage to it!), or let it (speaking of #4 again) remove a condition the moment it explodes (so that you don’t always have to trait it in order to get at least some Condition removal – it also wouldn’t be as strong as the condiremove uppon activation as caused by the Trait, since the conditions would stay for another 3 seconds on you after activation).

I hope you really mean trolls instead of generally players who complain about these changes. Mainly because i dislike the Scepter buff, and don’t think it to be ‘fantastic’ at all. I don’t know how long you haven’t playing Guild Wars anymore, but Condi Mesmers have not been weak for a long time now, and i cannot really remember any gamebreaking nerf to Condimesmers (except the Confusion nerf in the early Stages of gw2) at all as opposed to Powermesmers (especially Shatter). Seeing how the changes to Scepter not only don’t do too much for the currently underused Powerbuilds, but instead buffs the more braindead and passive PU-condiMesmer specs out there (which are already in a very good place), i cannot understand why someone would come to the conclusion of this being a good change – unless that someone actually ‘plays’ PU-condi or something similar defensive and error-forgiving condi-based.

Also about 90% of all the mesmers i’am meeting in WvW are playing PU atm, most of them PU condi. This change will not only make some other mesmers switch to PU condi (if they haven’t already), but may even lead to non-mesmers creating alt-mesmers just to faceroll others with appropiate PU condi-builds as well – meaning there will be even more PU condimesmers polluting the Roaming/Duelling scene in WvW (both in a relative and absolute way)

While the OP doesn’t make a very convincing argument, I do agree that the last thing mesmers need is another nerf. If you want skillful play, then you should be seeking solutions elsewhere. In my opinion, the real issue isn’t torment or any condition on auto-attacks. It’s how condition clears work. You can’t pop them pre-emptively to shield yourself from a condi-bomb and they don’t have a lingering effect to protect you from any condition you just cleared less than a second ago.

So that is my solution. Have condition clears give 4 seconds of immunity to all conditions if they are activated while the player has no conditions on them. If they do, they provide 8 seconds of immunity to the conditions they cleared but don’t protect against others. Naturally these numbers are arbitrary and condition clear traits will have to be altered for balance this but the idea is to get players to make deep and meaningful decisions.

I admit I’m not 100% convinced about this skillful play thing. Why shouldn’t conditions be able to provide some easy auto damage, just like power builds? If we want to remove that part of ‘skillful play’, all auto attacks should be dropped. but while they are here, I just don’t get why condi play should have a weaker auto just to appear skillful? It makes no sense.

Now if all condis (or all power dmg) comes from autos, that is a problem.

That is the problem. You are meeting pu in wvw. This is a build that by surviving the mesmer gains bags due to tagging just by staying alive. Pu is nothing in pvp. Why rage over wvw?? Unless I’m missing something this lets mesmer solo roam taking of camps or defending. Towers and keeps are off limits. The mesmer again veils and portal rushes. We have no aoe. So the camplaints about pu receiving a buff in wvw are silly. Just maybe the design is to bring shatter condition mesmer into pvp since we all know invis decaps points so why cry over a change not yet in game. Not yet used or even played. It is funny how many devs are in this community.

Yes sure, I mean some commens that I read from people that complains about our buff I they dont even play as a mesmer. In my opinion AA of scepter needed a buf so I welcome it. I only want to say that to Anet.

I hope new patch makes me play again. I love mesmers.

As someone who runs a condi Mesmer build, I’m eagerly anticipating the change to Scepter. However, as I mainly do PvE, I’m expecting it won’t actually affect me that much since mobs tend to aggro onto my clones and thus don’t run around as much to maximise the damage from Torment as they would.

I’m considering bringing out Illusionary Elasticity for another test run now that the clones work properly though.

TORMENT on AUTO-ATTACKS, and clone attacks…… So, picture yourself fighting a PU build now…. now picture yourself fighting that same PU build except you have 10 stacks of torment on you.

Abuse this cheese in solo q to pad your winrate while you can, it wont last too long before it gets nerfed

I tried out Mantras but couldn’t get “into it”. :/ The damage and utility always seemed so lackluster compared to phantasms and shatters. (I did enjoy the little lines my Mesmer yelled while pre-casting them though.)

wow.. people say pretty crazy stuff on the forums.

if this buff goes through … and at any point in the future you end up with 10 stacks of torment on you fighting a pu mesmer.. you deserve to lose and you deserve to have every one of those torments.

pu souldnt able to put 10 stack of torment it means his clones just sitting their hitting you freely. you just need to hit them from range

but shatter condi will be able to do so but more risky build than shatter.
