Q:
So how do you choose food?
I hate conditions => I almost always use either -28% or -36% condi duration, depending on situation.
Look at what your build does.
Is it a power build? You want food that will give you either power, ferocity or precision
Is it a condition build? You want food that will give you condi damage, condi duration or precision
Do you have trouble with conditions? Take one for your build (as listed above) + something that reduces condition duration on yourself.
Experiment and see what you like the most.
Pretty straightforward for me.
1. Make build.
2. Consider defense. If I don’t think I have enough, I’ll go with a defensive food(+hp/tick or vit, usually.)
3. If not, go pure offense.
The last, and most important step:
4. Disregard any choices made above. Run with Orrian Truffle and Meat Stew in the end, because of the endurance regeneration.
I JUST GOTTA HAVE MY FIX, MAN.
I make no claims to be the best at anything, unless that thing is eating Orrian Truffle and Meat Stew. I may have an addiction.
Dragon’s Revelry Starcake or GTFO!
Seriously,
Consider your build and weakness then choose your food and oils / crystals accordingly
I need my crackcakes it’s like having a celestial ascended accessory! I’m hybrid after-all anyways

Now Orrian Truffle and Meat Stew looks promising :O)
I’m currently experimenting with different builds and I’m not totally settled yet.
Hated mantras, and I tried condition in PvP last night and it was depressing watching the 7ft bikini wearing Norn lady regenerating as fast as I could hurt her.
That stew could work really well with a shatter build that I tried and enjoyed.
Found http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Food now. It should help figure something out.
