The problem I see right now is that mirage incentives going up in a group of clone’s, be indistinguishable. This is also the feel you get when looking at mirage skills and at how it is presented(but that could just be me). However the core mesmer mechanic of shatters really classes with this since you lose your niche when blowing up your clone’s.
What I want to suggest is to rework shatters into something a bit more on theme. Just like how guardian gets different f skill with his elite spec. Now i know i am not a balance dev so my idea’s are probably wildly of base but i wanted to give a small example of what I mean.

All your clones do normal damage for 1 attack (instead of the clone attack that normally only does condi damage they do full damage)
cry of frustration:
Teleport you and your clones to a random position within 500 units of the target. They all do AoE confusion.
diversion
You and all your clone’s gain taunt
distortion
On a low CD, swap with a clone without any visual effects.
I would really like to know what the rest of the people on this forum think about this. Not really about the skills I suggested(feel free to post your own idea’s) but more about the idea of replacing shatters with something more on theme.
I would have liked to see something (ANYTHING) done with our class mechanics. Mirage doesn’t touch them… doesn’t even really feel like an elite spec.
Core Mesmer mechanics are so flawed it leaves an incredible amount of creative space for them to do something, but they don’t touch them. Even chrono only added a shatter, it didn’t fundamentally change anything. Luckily, Chrono traits more than make up for it.
