This isnt a slight against you but I’m finding it tragically funny how many, and how regular, a thread is posted with “Here’s my roaming/shatter gameplay vid”. Same build (essentially), same fights, same setups, weapons, and rotations.

Shows the sad, sorry state of current Mesmer builds/gameplay out there.

Why don’t you have underwater weapons or utilities O.o

That’s because people tend to use whats most optimal for “montage worthy game play”. Condi builds have less risk, and are somewhat looked down upon. (Considered skill less cheese), and CI build’s don’t have that 100-0 burst aspect/thrill. I have respect for shatter mesmers in WvW due having first hand experience of its down sides.

Shatter build’s themselves have many variations, due to a large number of shatter orientated grand master traits, but again, 6 in illusions is the most “burst orientated” thus most used.

Rotations really depend on weapons, but again the only changes can expect are different offhands and maybe staff, so variety does die their.

Finally, we can all agree when I say “no fight is ever the same in WvW.”

@RossBiddle – I understand completely what you mean. DoomKnightMax said it perfectly, there isn’t much variety for builds you can play in wvw. CI builds are fun, but not as effective in a large group setting. PU/condi variants are just laughable in a large group, so that really only leaves shatter builds. Then the only thing that really changes from the 44006 build are some traits here and there.

What does change, and I hope you did enjoy, is the music! I take pride in always choosing good songs for my videos, so there’s that xD

And like DoomKnightMax said, shatter is high risk/high reward burst play style, and that’s really what I enjoy most!

@Fay – I guess I should explain that lol. As you could kinda gather, I hit the water and noticed I had nothing setup and pretty much freaked. My main mesmer is asura, but I just got this one geared and into wvw yesterday, and overlooked the underwater aspect till that moment! Now I have all my water stuff ready!

Lo, so true. What many people don’t realize is that these videos are actually music, with some visual effects added in the form of GW2 gameplay :p

Yeh, m9. Stick to mesmer please. Regardless of other people thinking these are just music vids, I pay more attention to the actual gameplay. Each WvW fight is a bit different than the last. That is what is so lovely about solo roaming. My main account is on FA, so it’s pretty cool to see some of the same enemy faces/tags I’m used to seeing! I see your guild often running 3-4 so it’s sweet to see you solo. More of these vids, please! They rock.

Dudes, you totes be creepin’ :p What server is your alt account on? What guild tag do you run?

I’m on FA, SoS, YB, NSP, and DH (might move this account back to EU cos it’s super laggy ever since I moved it over to DH). If I’m with a guild, I’m running [Trillmatic], [RISE], [BMO], or [MEAN]. If I’m solo, it’s [Fap], [GF], [SLRP] and countless others.

I have 8 accounts, however, I only have 5 level 80’s that are geared up. Before/if you ask why: solo roaming. Also, it kind of turned into me being in 5 GvG guilds as the gank/pick mesmer. I love solo roaming, group roaming, tPvP, and GvG’s on my mesmer. <3

Love love loved this vid! I really don’t enjoy wvw, but that was a super great video to watch. Give us more.
